Jim had, after a long moment, asked me millions of questions.
"You have magic now?" His tired eyes went wide as his grip on my hand tightened.
"Sort of...I have no idea how it all works..." Tobey nodded along with me, us walking back to the spot, at least if we remembered correctly, where I was able to open the portal.
And we walked for a long while in silence, Jim's expression more at peace as we felt we were getting closer. But of course, because why not, something stopped us.
It was a troll. A giant of a troll! Its black and blue rocky exterior gave off a faint glow as it towered over us.
Jim, Tobey, and I got into a fighting position.
"Puny humans." The troll, the Gumgum, chuckled and launched itself at us.
One thing led to another, us now in a small prison...

"You will all individually fight against my strongest warrior! Begin with her!" Gunmar had been scary in the books Blinky had shown us, in the pictures that were drawn of him, but him in person...
I gulped down the huge lump in my throat, shakily holding onto Jim as mini trolls tried to grab me.
"Jim, she's really weak right now, I don't think-" But before Tobey could finish his thought, I was dragged out.
"Destined Partner of the Trollhunter, I've heard many things about you..." Gunmar looked deep in thought as he sat on his throne, his vile-looking throne.
"All good things I'm sure." My words were slightly muffled as I was pushed to the ground, Jim, and Tobey no longer in my view.
Gunmar let out what I think was a laugh? It sounded so unnatural...
"You have spirit Destined Partner. Let's see if that'll keep you alive."
I looked up to see the troll we had seen earlier was now in front of me with a malicious grin. He had a searing metal staff in one hand, the other holding a shield.
"Those aren't really necessary." I grumbled as I prepared my sword, feeling for anything else that'd help me.
Without any signal of our start, the troll started charging towards me. I leaped to the side as the sound of his shield slamming into the ground made the dead earth around us shake. I turned to see that he'd left a hole where I was just at.
I took a shaky breath and firmly planted my feet as I grew dizzy.
"Tired already? Destined Partner, I expected more." He taunted, swinging his staff like a toy.
I just waved my hand at him as I tried to take deep breathes, my entire body still being drained.
He came at me again, this time with his staff. I ducked, only missing the wave of heat by a millisecond! I tried to kick his leg but he stood as if I hadn't touched him.
"Are we sure this is the right human?" He genuinely questioned Gunmar. Gunmar snarled with a nod.
"Just give me a sec to warm up." I held onto my sword's handle so harshly that it turned my knuckles pale.
I looked up at him and waited for him to make the first move.
He swung his staff down at me, me using my sword as a shield as he pressed me to the ground. I loudly grunted as I slid my feet to my sword's blade to help my shaking hands, using as much strength as I could to move the fiery pole away from me.
