Once the Tardis had materialized, Avery all but skipped out the doors with the Doctor right behind, smiling at her excitement. "Someone's happy?" He jokes lightly and Avery turns to him with a grin.
"I've just really missed this." She admits, "I mean, between Christmas and the school, I was bound to rejoin team Tardis, right?"
"I am happy you're back." The Doctor tells her with a smile, ruffling her hair lightly.
A few moments later, Mickey and Rose step out, "It's a spaceship." The former exclaims, "Brilliant! I got a spaceship on my first go." With his words, Avery finally takes a minute to look at her surroundings, there were lots of bits and pieces of equipment scattered around.
"It looks kind of abandoned." Rose comments before asking, "Anyone on board?"
"Nah, nothing here." The Doctor responded before correcting himself, "Well, nothing dangerous. Well, not that dangerous." Avery raised a brow at him, causing him to say, "You know what, I'll just have a quick scan, in case there's anything dangerous." Avery laughed lightly as she followed him over to a console, where he began flipping switches.
Rose sidles up to them, asking, "So, what's the date? How far we gone?"
"About three thousand years into your future, give or take." The Doctor replies before he finds the light switch on a console, lighting up the room and opening part of the ceiling to reveal a beautiful cluster of stars and light that leaves Avery staring in wonder, "51st century. Diagmar Cluster, you're a long way from home, Mickey. Two and a half galaxies."
As Mickey looks out the window at the stars, Rose comes up behind him to say, "Mickey Smith, meet the universe. See anything you like?"
"It's so realistic!" He exclaims, looking back at Rose with a grin.
"Dear me, had some cowboys in here. Been a ton of repair work going on." The Doctor comments, rooting through wires and parts.
Avery notices a scanner, causing her to say, "Doctor, doesn't that look a bit odd."
"Sure does." The Doctor agrees, looking at the scanner a little closer, "Look at that. All the warp engines are going. Full capacity. There's enough power running through this ship to punch a hole in the universe, but we're not moving."
"So where's all that power going?" Avery wonders.
"Where'd all the crew go?" Rose adds.
"Good question. No life readings on board." The Doctor replies to Rose.
"Well, we're in deep space. They didn't just nip out for a quick fag." Rose comments.
"No, I've checked all the smoking pods." The Doctor responds as he fiddles with the console some more before asking, "Can you smell that?"
"Yeah, someone's cooking." Rose answers.
"Sunday roast, definitely." Mickey adds.
Avery looks at some of the switches before flipping one, opening a door behind them. The far wall is paneled, and contains a blazing fire in an ornate fireplace, with an ormolu clock on the mantlepiece. Avery furrows her her brows as she moves closer to the mantle, the Doctor rambling behind her, "Well, there's something you don't see in your average spaceship. 18th century. French. Nice mantle." He moves towards where Avery is looking at the mantle, pulling out his sonic screwdriver and scanning it, "Not a hologram. It's not even a reproduction. This actually is an 18th century French fireplace. Double sided. There's another room through there." At his words, Avery crouches down to peer through the fireplace.
Rose looks out of a porthole in the same wall, "There can't be. That's the outer hull of the ship. Look." The Doctor moves to look through the window.
"Hello." Avery greets with a soft smile, speaking to a young girl in a nightgown who is kneeling by the fire on the other side of the fireplace.
