Jack breathed heavily as he carried Owen over his shoulders, reluctantly relying on Ianto to lead the way with Gwen and Avery just behind him. "Clear?" He asked.

"Clear." Ianto replies.

They continue walking down the corridor, Avery settling next to Ianto with her gun pointed forward, ignoring the way her hand trembled slightly. She freezes when Lisa appears at the end of the corridor. Jack steps forward just behind Ianto and Avery, pointing his gun at Lisa as Gwen gasps, wondering aloud, "Oh my God, there she is. What is she?"

"Some form of Cyberman." Avery answers, "They're us, but upgraded. Humans with their emotions removed, created on a parallel world and supposed to be destroyed on this one. We went to great lengths to make sure of it."

Gwen glances at her worriedly as she sees the dark look on the girl's face before asking her, "What are we gonna do?"

"I don't know." Avery admits.

Suddenly, Lisa turns, marching away. Moments pass before Ianto breathes, "She's gone."

Jack angles his wrist so the barrel of his gun is pressed to the side of Ianto's head, making Avery's eyes widen at the action even as he commands, "Get us back to the Hub."

"Jack, what are you doing?" Gwen demands, stunned at the action.

"Resisting the urge to shoot." He grounds out as he scowls at Ianto.

Ianto cautiously begins to walk forward, leading them through the basement and back up to the hub. Avery keeps an eye on Jack's gun arm, she would trust him to run his base as he pleased, but she wouldn't see a man murdered in cold blood for what she is hoping is a mistake. When they reached the hub, Jack dropped his gun arm as he laid Owen down and ordered, "Tosh, get everything from the weapons room, fast as you can."

"It's locked down. There's no manual override." Tosh protests, moving towards the room even if she can't get in.

"Just open the store!" Jack yelled in response as he grabs Ianto, "On your knees." Ianto obeys as Jack presses the barrel of his gun to the man's head, "Hands above your head." Ianto listens again as Avery's brows furrow, not liking the side of Jack she was seeing.

"Jack, for God's sake, what are you doing?" Tosh questions.

"Tosh, I gave you an order! Gwen, help her!" He shouts in response. The two girls finally listen and turn away as Jack presses Ianto a little harder, anger rushing through him, "Did you know that thing was down there?"

"I put her there." Ianto admits.

Jack grabs his head, pressing the barrel of the gun a little harder, "You hid a Cyberman within Torchwood, and you didn't tell us? What else are you keeping from us?"

"Like you care." Ianto counters, eyes tearing up as accuses him, "I clear up your shit. No questions asked and that's the way you like it. When did you last ask me anything about my life?" His words seem to hit hard as Jack drops his gun arm, releasing Ianto, "Her name's Lisa. She's my girlfriend."

"Why didn't you tell us?" Gwen demands, "We could have helped you."

"Torchwood exists to destroy alien threats." Ianto replies, "Why would I tell you about her?"

"A little loyalty, perhaps?" Owen tells him as he sits up, rubbing his shoulder where he had been hit.

"My loyalty's to her." Ianto cried, "She worked for Torchwood. She was caught up in battle. I owe it to Lisa, we owe it to her, to find a cure."

Jack moves to step toward him again, but Avery gently grabs his shoulder and he lets her pass to crouch in front of Ianto, speaking softly, "Ianto, you have to believe me, there is no cure. There never will be. Those who are converted stay that way. I'm sorry, but Lisa will not be the exception."
