Next morning, as the pupils are arriving at the school, the Doctor, Avery, Rose, Mickey, and Sarah Jane are walking towards the school. "Avery, Rose, and Sarah, you go to the Maths room. Crack open those computers, I need to see the hardware inside." The Doctor instructs before handing his sonic screwdriver to Avery, despite both Rose and Sarah Jane holding out their hands expectantly, "Here, you might need this." Avery tucks the screwdriver into the pocket of her jacket as the Doctor continues, "Mickey, surveillance. I want you outside."

"Just stand outside?" Mickey questions as the others begin to walk towards the school.

"Here, take these, you can keep K9 company." Sarah Jane tells him, tossing her car keys to him.

"Don't forget to leave the window open a crack." The Doctor reminds.

"But he's metal!" Mickey protests.

"I didn't mean for him."

"What're you going to do?" Rose asks.

"It's time I had a word with Mister Finch."

Not long after they had entered the IT room, Sarah Jane had snatched the sonic screwdriver from Avery's pocket and immediately set to trying to work with the computers. Avery watches Sarah Jane struggle, not impressed with the way the woman was clearly trying to prove herself before finally huffing, "It's not working."

"Give it to me." Avery says, taking the screwdriver back and ducking under the desk to buzz the computer, "There's a reason why the Doctor gave it to me in the first place, because I already know how to use it." She hadn't meant to come off as rude, but when Avery was in work-mode she tended to sound snappy and blunt, more focused on her work than others.

"Used to work first time in my day." Sarah Jane comments.

"Well, things were a lot simpler back then." Rose muttered.

"Rose, can I give you a bit of advice?" Sarah Jane asked.

"I've got a feeling you're about to." Rose replied as Avery came out from underneath the desk and began carefully typing away at the computer, trying to get into the system.

"I know how intense a relationship with the Doctor can be, and I don't want you to feel I'm intruding—"

"I don't feel threatened by you, if that's what you mean." Rose interrupts.

"Yeah, right." Avery mutters, ignoring Rose's glare as she disappears under the desk again.

"Right. Good." Sarah Jane continued, ignoring Avery's comment, "Because I'm not interested in picking up where we left off."

"No?" Rose questions, "With the big sad eyes and the robot dog? What else were you doing last night?"

"I was just saying how hard it was adjusting to life back on Earth."

"The thing is, when you two met they'd only just got rid of rationing." Rose says snidely, "No wonder all that space stuff was a bit too much for you." Avery comes back out from under the desk, sending her sister a scolding glare.

"I had no problem with space stuff. I saw things you wouldn't believe." Sarah Jane boasted.

"Try me." Rose challenged.

"Mummies."

"I've met ghosts."

"Robots. Lots of robots."

"Slitheen, in Downing Street."

"Daleks!"

"Met the Emperor."
