After she returned home, Avery took a couple months to heal, her mother being her strongest rock as she related in the pain of losing someone you cared for deeply. Avery often found herself in Paris, visiting the Louvre as after some research she found out that her painting was being held there. Jackie often came with her, supporting her daughter through her time of grieving even if she didn't completely understand the relationship.

However, as time passed, Avery felt better, her heart healing slowly. Part of her would always care for Reinette in a way, but that caring was moving towards strength. So that was what led her to pulling out her phone and dialing a familiar number that was picked up on the first ring, "Doctor, I'm ready." She said.

She heard some shuffling and fumbling, as if the Doctor dropped the phone and was struggling to pick it back up before finally hearing him question, "Really?"

"Yes, Doctor." She replied in amusement.

"Where are you? Give me a location, date, and time, and I'll be there in a minute."

"I'm at the Louvre—" She answered only to be cut off.

"Why are you there?"

"I have something to show you." She told him before following up with the exact time and date.

She waited outside the Louvre until she saw heard a familiar wheezing sound and right before her the Tardis appeared in all of Her beauty. The Doctor exited the Tardis only for Avery to take his hand a moment after, beginning to drag him into the building and through its halls, "What did you want to show me?" The Doctor asked as he allowed himself to be led.

Avery didn't answer until they reached their destination, "This."

The Doctor looked up at the painting in awe. It was Avery in that beautiful blue dress and her hair in a gorgeous updo, her soft smile portrayed so perfectly in the painting, "Is that you?" He found himself asking, despite already knowing the answer. The Lonely Angel was the title of the painting, and he couldn't help but think how accurate the description was. Avery looked as beautiful as an angel in the painting, but there was a haunting loneliness in her eyes, that he knew was from wanting to return to the Tardis.

"Reinette painted it right before I left. It was a birthday present." Avery explained to him, breaking him out of his thoughts before she turned to him completely, "This painting being here has been helping a lot. It makes me feel closer to her and now I'm ready to move on."

"How long has it been?" The Doctor asks her, concern lacing his voice.

"A couple months." She admits before quickly assuring, "But, I'm ready, Doctor, show me the future."

"Where's Mickey?" Avery asked as she entered the Tardis, noticing that his brief rundown of some of their more recent adventures didn't include him.

"Stuck in a parallel universe. It's complicated. You'll understand one day." Avery's brows furrowed in confusion at the vague answer he gave her but she had to trust he was right, "I will tell you that he wanted to stay. His gran was still alive there so he stuck around."

"I see..." Avery agrees, however it was clear she had many questions to ask that she knew he couldn't answer.

The Doctor switched the topic to his plan for the near future, "Rose wanted to head home soon, so I was thinking that I take you two on an adventure and then I take you to spend some time with your mum. Then it will be the three of us off to see time and space."

"Sounds fantastic." Avery agreed, a slight smirk taking her face at the second word.

"I couldn't agree more." Rose said as she came up the stairs, into the console room.
