Chapter 30 - Fuck.

⇀3RD PERSON POV

A groan left Mari's mouth as she clasped her hand over her phone, making the alarm stop. "Damn." She mumbled to herself before blinking her eyes open and looking around the room.

Wanting nothing but to continue sleeping, the girl hugged her sheets closer to her body but upon closing her eyes she felt a blaring sound next to her head, again.

She threw the covers off her body before moving her feet off the bed and turning off the alarm, not snoozing it like moments ago.

Mari slowly walked over towards the bathroom, doing her morning routine. After almost falling asleep while brushing her teeth, she spat out the toothpaste and washed out her mouth and face.

Anxiety coursed through her body as she realised it's the wedding day. "Oh my god." Mari whispered before staring at the mirror and nodding her head. "Okay. We can do it."

She didn't mind the ceremony, her worst fear was the amount of people there. She knew it's a royal wedding and there would probably be hundreds of people, mostly royalty. Not to mention they are probably all vampires.

Knowing that there's a truce between vampires and other creatures didn't make her feel any better. In fact it made her feel even worse, having realised there would also be a lot of angels too as Taeri is an angel.

"Fuck." She cursed under her breath before hanging the towel she held in her hand and walking out towards her wardrobe. She pulled out a pair of joggers and a crop top and changed, tying her hair into a messy bun immediately after.

Her steps through the living room were silent as she did her best not to wake her brother up. Upon her arrival to the doors, she unlocked them and stepped outside, taking a deep breathe in.

The fresh air filled her lungs as a satisfied smile stood on her face. "Nothing makes your day better than a morning run." Mari said before closing the doors after her. She locked the house and dropped her keys under a plant covering the ground.

The sound of bones cracking was heard as the girl moved her neck around before doing a few squats. She jumped a few times before taking another deep breathe in and focusing.

Not too long after, her human body transformed into her wolf form. Her pale skin was replaced by Sapphire's dark brown fur, her honey brown orbs now a blue colour.

A growl sounded through the forest before the wolf started running. With every step she felt more and more free. The cold morning breeze moved swiftly through her fur as she fastened her pace, the house she left becoming smaller and smaller.

A loud howl left the wolf's throat as she took a turn but her fast and powerful steps were stopped as soon as she felt something tight around her foot before being pulled up into the air.

Knowing that the hunters would be back anytime soon, the wolf started moving around, trying to loosen the rope or just make it snap. In no time the wolf was swinging on a branch, almost hitting the tree with her body.

A few minutes later she stopped struggling. Knowing there was no use in trying to free herself that way, she calmed the rope before using all her strength to raise her body and cut the rope using her claws.

Several tries later, the wolf finally succeeded and fell to the ground with a loud thud. "God damn it." A single look at her body gave her information of how she would spend the rest of the day.

Definitely not dancing with the girls.

Her fur was all tangled up, filled with mud and some broken branches. There were also a few leaves filling the gaps. Sapphire growled slightly as she got up on her feet, unsure of using the paw that was held up with the rope moments before.

With a few slow steps, to make sure she was healthy enough to walk, the wolf started her way back home. Luckily she hadn't gone far as she usually does or it would be a pain to come back, especially with her itchy fur.

Half an hour run turned into an hour and a half long walk back home.

Finally at home, the wolf walked over to her brother's window and scratched her paw over the window, a ligh howl leaving her mouth. Luckily for her, Seonghwa was awake uppon her arrival.

He quickly run out towards the doors, she followed his action and sat down in front of him, scratching her head with her back leg. "What happened?" He asked as soon as he saw her.

"Hunters left a trap, got me flying in the air. Fur tangled, can't shift back to human form." Sapphire stopped talking before scratching her fur another time. "So itchy."

"I'll go get a brush and some water to clean you up, okay? Sit here." Seonghwa said before walking back in. "Bring food!"

As fast as he left, her brother came back. He threw a piece of meat in front of her before he started removing the branches out of her fur. "Oh boy."

"Tell me about it."

First update in 2022, how we feeling

with this chapter we are finally leaving celestial in the past, yay!

it's a bit short but i wanted to update quickly before i have to go back to school

with that- my final exams start in exactly half a year and i seriously need to start studying so that means one of these things: i'll either start updating more as i'll be using my phone rather than studying or i won't be updating at all, maybe once in a while but very rare - hopefully the second one because i really need to start studying 😔☝️
