Hi! Sorry this is taking a bit to update. I'm having a bit of trouble trying to write chapters, it's not flowing as smoothly as I'd like, but we're getting there!

Jen stood in her closet, contemplating her options.

She was having the friends group over for dinner and drinks later that evening since they were all in town. It will be the first time in about 6 months that they'd all be together again, and she was over the moon happy about it.

"Alright, well, we're just staying in. I don't think I need to get super dressed up...Then again..." Jen started drifting off into a daydream of a certain someone seeing her in the black dress she was looking at and immediately having the air knocked out of him. Looking at her beauty, doing his best to compose himself.

She giggled and nodded. She bit her bottom lip then proceeded to slip into the bathroom to take a shower and put something more comfortable on for the time being.

She was happy that the group kept their promise to keep in touch and actually mean it. She was a bit scared the men would just go back to not talking to her, but that was not the case.

They've all seen each other at some point since the reunion, but not all at once. David's ex just got back from a trip to Europe, so it was perfect timing for him to join the group at the last minute. Jen was more than thrilled when she got the call two days ago saying he would be able to join them, even staying a few days to just hang out.

David arrived in California around 9AM. There were a few people around, but it didn't seem like anyone took notice of him with the mask and hat on. He got to his rental, nodding as he got in.

"Comfy. Alright, time to go to this meeting and surprise Jen." He said before starting the car and driving away.

About an hour went by, David left the building where his friends Peter and Natasha worked "Guys, I owe you so much for getting me this deal. You guys are the best and I love you both!" He said, grinning ear-to-ear.

The woman smiled and waved "David, you know we got your back. Enjoy your stay with Jen, tell her we said hi!" She replied with a chuckle. David nodded, then got in the car and drove away.

His next stop was a flower shop, 5 minutes away.

"Well, well, well the rumor about you coming to town was true." Emily said with a warm smile, David laughed as the young woman greeted him. Emily was a woman in her middle to late 30's, about 5'3, with short Red hair.

"News travels fast in this town, apparently. Not surprised, I guess Jen told you?" He asked. Jen and her had met at an after party about 10 years before, David and her crossed paths by mere coincidence when he and Zoë went out on a double date with Emily and one of David's friends.

"She did. I spoke with her for a bit yesterday while she was out walking her dogs. She was over the moon excited, but I take it you didn't come in to talk about Jen?" The woman asked, feeling intrigued by his true reason. He just smiled shyly "You got any white roses in stock? And technically, I am here to talk about Jen. They are for her." He admitted as he put in his order.

Emily smiled brightly at the man "Yeah, we just got a fresh batch in. Did you want a full bouquet or?" she asked. David contemplated his options before settling on a full bouquet.

Jen was in her kitchen, she decided today was going to be a little bit of a naughty day for her diet. She did her best to eat as clean as she could. However, today felt like a pancake type of day, so she made her favorite chocolate chip pancakes.

As she sat down with her plate, she heard the front door open. She looked toward her kitchen door, unable to see who was there, but having a feeling it was absolutely someone she knew.
