017- Rumor

A few days had passed and a rumor had seen to spread around Slytherin. A rumor which was about me and Draco. Apparently, someone saw me leaving Draco's dorm and sneaking off back to mine. I'm not sure who has started this rumor but whoever it is, I want to know. This rumor is true, but I don't want anyone to know that. Blaise did catch me sneaking out of Draco's dorm but I doubt him of all people would tell anyone about it. Pansy and Millie haven't stopped bugging me about it and I have is it stayed in my dorm for the past few days. I hate confrontation. I'm a pretty bad liar, so I don't particularly want to be intimidated all day. Soon enough, I'm going to have to leave my dorm and face everyone, including Draco, but I really don't want to.

I have no idea how Draco has responded to all of this but knowing him, he must be mad about it. I am confident that he will not want to see me at all after what has been spread around the common room. I haven't even spoken to Mattheo yet, there's not doubt that he knows. He knows me and Draco hate eachother though, I'm pretty sure that all of Slytherin knows about how me and Draco are pretty much enemies. Nothing even happened in Draco's dorm, all we were talking about was about how I saved him from dying.

Pansy interrupted my thoughts by barging into our dorm.

"Are you ever going to come out of here?" She asked me.

"Maybe when everyone has forgotten about it." I shrugged my shoulders.

"The rumor isn't even true, is it?" She raised her eyebrows.

"I have told you ten times, it's not true. Why would I even step foot in his dorm?" I chuckled.

"I have no clue, but Mattheo really wants to talk to you." She informed me.

"Great, I hope he doesn't believe this rumor." I sighed.

"I'm sure he won't, but you're going to have to talk to him." She said.

"I will, I'll go talk to him now." I groaned.

"Hardly anyone is in the common room right now, so you won't get bombarded by loads of people." Pansy told me, which made me relieved.

"I'm glad to hear that." I sighed in relief.

"Just a warning though, Draco is also in the common room." Pansy told me.

"I'm sure I'll live." I joked.

Me and Pansy left our dorm and made our way to the common room. As soon as we got there, eyes darted towards me and whispers started around the room. I ignored it all but as I turned away, I still felt eyes on me. Me and Pansy walked over to where Mattheo, Blaise and Draco was.

"Look who finally decided to show up after days, you're worse than Malfoy." Blaise joked, which responded to me and Draco giving him death stares.

"I need to talk to you." Mattheo spoke to me, he looks quite irritated. I nodded my head and Mattheo leaded me to a corner of the room so we could talk.

"I know about the rumor." He started off.

"I know what you're thinking, but that rumor is not true. Why would me, of all people, go into Malfoys dorm?" I said.

"Everyone thinks that there's something suspicious going on with you and Draco." He told me.

"There's not, we never even talk to eachother." I lied. Technically, I wasn't lying as we don't talk to eachother, but we have recently.

"I know, but why would someone even make this up." He sighed. I had to think of something and I had to do it fast.

"Tracey Davis!" I exclaimed.

"What?" He said, confused.

"Remember how Tracey used to have a crush on Malfoy but he rejected her. She has never really taken a liking to me and she knows that me and Malfoy are enemies, so, maybe she has a crush on you and wanted to spread this rumor to make you think that's it's true." I quickly made something up. Tracey did in fact get rejected by Draco and she never had liked me, I'm not sure why though.

"You could be right, but I just wanted to make sure that the rumor wasn't true." He gave me a small smile.

I felt absolutely awful for lying to him but how was I supposed to explain that I was in Draco's dorm because I saved his life. It's bad enough that I have to marry him.

"Do you know who has started this rumor?" I asked him.

"Not a clue. I it heard from Blaise, who heard it from Nott, who heard it from some girls in his class." He told me.

"I really want to find out who started this." I sighed.

"Me too." He gave me a soft smile.

We made our way back to our friends and before sitting was said, Daphne Greengrass made her way over to us.

"Are the rumors true?" She asked me and Draco.

"No, who even started this rumor?" I groaned.

"I know who." She said quietly.

"Who?" I almost shouted.

"Tracey Davis." She said in a low tone. Me and Draco exchanged looks. "She told me and some other girls that she saw Y/n coming out of Draco's dorm and then sneaking back off to her own dorm." Daphne explained.

"Why is she making this up?" Pansy butted in.

"She told me and some others that it's true and that she wouldn't lie about this." Daphne shrugged her shoulders.

"It's all lies!" Draco started to get more and more angry by the second.

"Tracey has never liked me and she did used to fancy Malfoy but then he rejected her. We all remember that right?" I asked, everybody nodded this heads. "So, she's obviously just trying to make something up as she is probably still mad over getting rejected." I said. My reasoning actually sounded quite believable, but I do know that Tracey had seen me coming out of Draco's dorm. It was no rumor, she's going to hold this against me and Draco forever.

"That could be possible." Daphne agreed. This whole time, Blaise stayed silent and seemed to be wanting to say something but he stopped himself.

Blaise saw me sneaking out of the boys dorms but he didn't know that I was coming out of Draco's dorm. Now that this rumor has started, Blaise might start to think that it's true.
