       (Madison's point of view)

"What did we just do?" I said laughing.

"We basically just signed up to be parents and we've known each other for only three days." He said looking at me laughing.

I was holding the baby now. The sheriff has been gone for two hours and he hasn't called yet.......

Someone started knocking at the door. Danny got up and answered it. It was the Sheriff and he came in with another woman.

        "Hello." She said to me.

"Hello. Are you from Children's Services?" I asked her.

"Yes I am. The Sheriff here told me you found her and you'd like to adopt her." The lady said.

Danny and I looked at each other, smiled and said yes.

The Children's Services lady layed papers out on the kitchen table. Danny and I filled out the proper info and signed.

I feel like I just lived the next 10 years of my life in 3 days. The social worker told us, before she left, that we needed to get a crib and a carseat.

        "Of course." I replied.

Danny led them outside and talked to the Sheriff for a few minutes, then came back inside.

        (Danny's point of view)

I led the Sheriff and the social worker to their cars.

"Hey Danny. Can I talk to you for a minute?"  The Sheriff asked.

        "Yeah." I replied.

        "Who is she?"

"Her name's Madison. I was driving home a couple of days ago and I saw her outside her car on the side of the road. I brought her car here to fix it. We got to talking and," I paused...." She was in the pileup, and her parents died."

The Sheriff looked at me surprised.

        "Really? What a coincidence."

        "Yeah. I know."

"You love her, don't you?" The Sherif asked.

"I do." I paused, "How did you know?"

"The way you were looking at her. I haven't seen you look at anyone that way since," He paused. "Sorry."

"It's okay. I've moved on. Thanks Sheriff."

"Your welcome. Take care of them and if you need anything just give me a call." Sheriff said as he got into his car.

I walked in the house and watched Madison playing with the baby.

        "Hey." I said.

        "Hey." She replied.

"I know this is all sudden and completly crazy. But do you want to move in?" I asked.

Madison looked at me and said, "Yeah. Did you think I was just going to leave you with a baby?" She laughed.

I just smiled at her. My entire life has changed in the course of 3 days and I honestly couldn't be happier. While looking at Madison and the baby, I thought to myself, "I hope this is my future."

        (Madison's point of view)

Danny came and sat next to me and put his arm around me. I thought to myself, while watching the baby sleeping in my arms, "This feels like a dream, the last three days..... I never would have even imagined this for myself."

                        ...........................................................................................................

Danny looked at me, "What are you thinking about?"

        "Everything." I replied.

"This is all so surreal." He said.

"Yeah. I talked to my Aunt while you were outside. She has an old crib we can use. All we need is a carseat. She's gonna bring it over today. She said she can't wait to meet you." I told him.

        Danny just looked overwhelmed.

"This is a lot to take in. But I couldn't be happier." He looked at me smiling.

"Do you want to take a walk outside?" He asked me.

"Yeah. I'd love that." I replied.

Danny grabbed a blanket before we went out, so the baby wouldn't cold. It was a little chilly for June.

We were walking down the steps of the back porch when Danny said, "She's gonna need a name."

"Have you thought of any?" I asked him.

        "Yeah. Have you?"

        "Of course." I said smiling.
