Denny and I are doing great. Taylor is three now and learning so many things along with Sophia. Denny and I are still trying to warm them up to the idea of being big sisters. They don't seem too fond of the idea. I'm so excited that Denny and I are expanding our beautiful family.
(Denny's point of view)
Madison and I are so happy to be expanding our family. With the new racing season, this is going to be one great year.
Fast-forward to the Championship race:
(Madison's point of view)
Denny's in first place with two laps to go. The girls are sitting in the chairs next to me and I'm holding our almost three month old son, Cooper. Denny is leading as he comes around and captures the checkered flag winning the race and his first ever championship.
"Denny Hamlin wins the 2016 NASCAR Championship! The first of his career!"
Victory Lane:
Denny climbs out of the car and confetti flies and people are chanting his name. I walk the girls over to him. The look on his face said it all. He was the happiest man in the world. He now has everything he has ever wanted. He pulls us all into his embrace.
"Go daddy!" Sophia and Taylor yell. I hear Cooper giggling happily. Denny smiles from ear to ear.
"Congrats champion!" I said to him, crying.
"Without you, I never could've done this. You and our family are the reason I continue to fight and persevere. You guys are worth more to me than anything any championship can give me." Denny said, leaning in and kissing me. The girls in his arms and Cooper in mine.
"I love you." Denny and I both said in unison. We both laughed and looked around. Everything and everybody seemed to be in slow motion, except for our little family. We were right where we belonged and nothing could ever change that.
