Backroad Fate

Chapter 14

(Danny's point of view)

  One month later-

     Madison moved in all her stuff and we're finally finished with Sophia's nursery. The farm is doing great and everything's finally settled down. Madison only has one year of medical school to go. She already has a job lined up at a pediatric center in town. Our relationship is going great and I'm falling on love with her even more everyday and I didn't even know it was possible.

    Sophia's getting bigger. The doctors told us that when we found her she was only a day old. She's a very healthy, and happy baby. I wake up every morning and watch her sleeping in her crib and wonder how I got so lucky. I never was a big believer in fate and destiny, but I am now.

   (Madison's point of view)

   I've never felt this kind of happiness before. Danny and Sophia make me a better person each and every day, and I don't know how I got so lucky.

    I've been helping Danny on the farm when I can. I take Sophia outside and sit her in a her vibrating chair while I plant flowers in the flower bed and pull weeds. Meanwhile, Danny is tending to the animals and, of course, working on my car, which is almost fixed.

    

      2 months later-

   (Madison's point of view)

    Sophia is almost three months old now and she loves the farm animals. Danny holds her so she can watch me bring the horses into the barn and she laughs the whole time. Her and Danny's laugh sound exactly alike and its adorable.

     One night, Danny and I went outside with Sophia and sat on the back porch.

     "I want to show you something." Danny said. " I put lights on the barn."

    We went over to the barn and he plugged the lights in.

     The lights spelled out, " Will you marry me?"

   I looked at Danny and he was down on one knee. He was holding a Tiffany engagement ring box, with the most amazing ring I've ever seen inside.

   Danny looked me in the eyes and said, " Madison Marie Williams, I've loved you since the day I laid eyes on you. I never knew that I could ever be this happy. You and Sophia are the best thing that's ever happened to me. So, will you make me the luckiest and happiest man in the world and marry me?"

  I had tears running down my face and I looked at Sophia in my arms and she was smiling at Danny and I knew that this was forever.

      I looked at Danny and said, " Yes!"  He stood up and put the ring on my finger and kissed me. We stood there for a couple of minutes in silence, thinking about us and our future.

      Then I hear my Aunt laughing behind me. She had a camera in her hand.

     " I recorded the whole thing!" She said, smiling. I looked at Danny and said, " I can't believe you did all this for me."

     "I'd do anything for you." He said.

     "Awwwww...." I heard my Aunt say, " You guys are adorable."

     That night we had dinner with my family at my Aunt's house. Looking at everyone I knew I was the luckiest person in the entire world.
