(Madison's point of view)
The race is about to start. One more lap around the track and the green flag will wave.
Green Flag:
Denny leads the first two laps around. He is doing great.
Halfway:
Dave: Alright, Denny we're halfway. Keep that car up front. It's getting sketchy in the back of the pack. Cars are bumpin' and bangin'.
Denny: 10-4. Lets go get ourselves another win.
Two to go:
Denny is in first after leading almost the entire race.
Checkered flag:
"Denny Hamlin has won the 2015 Irwin Tools Night Race!" The announcer screamed. I was crying tears of joy as Dave hugged me. I could hear Denny on the radio. "Thank you guys so much. We just won Bristol, baby!"
He did an awesome burnout and drove to victory lane. I was already there waiting for him. Confetti and pop flew as Denny exited the car. His friend Austin handed him, then gave him a huge hug. I walked over to Denny and he smiled widely at me. I saw Mary Lou and the girls behind him.
"Congrats, baby!" I said to him. Giving him a big hug.
"I told you we'd be in victory lane." He said, smiling and laughing. He suddenly climbed up on the stage where the pit crew was. He reached for my hand and pulled me up. The girls were up there already waiting for us.
"So... I have something to ask you." Denny said, smiling at me.
I looked at him, questioningly, "And what would that be?" I asked him, smiling back.
Suddenly he got down on one knee and pulled out a ring box. Inside was the most beautiful ring I have ever seen.
"Madison, you have made me see life so differently. I never would have thought in a million years that I could ever be this happy. You have made me a better man and I am so grateful for that. Thank you for always being there. Thank you for being an amazing mother to my daughter. You are the only person I want to wake up next to, every day for the rest of my life. The happiness I feel when I win races, doesn't compare to the happiness I feel when I'm with you. You are my victory lane, and the woman of my dreams. So, will you make me the happiest, and luckiest man in the world and marry me?" Denny asked with tears in his eyes.
I covered my mouth, tears running down my face, smiling and said, "Yes! Of course I will marry you!"
Denny jumped up and lifted me into his arms. We kissed and he put the ring on my finger as the cameras flashed and people were cheering.
Wow, I thought, I never would have imagined this. Getting proposed to in victory lane, that's pretty awesome. Denny held me while we stood there basking in our happiness. He bent down and picked up Sophia and Taylor.
"Look at our family. Aren't we adorable?" I asked him.
"Yes... yes we are." He said, pulling us all in for a group hug.
