               Recap:

"Mr. Hamlin, it looks like you have indeed torn your ACL, in your knee." The doctor told us.

              Present:

       (Madison's point of view)

"Would you like to schedule the surgery?" The doctor asked.

I looked at Denny, without hesitation, he said, "No, I'm gonna wait until the end of the season."

I looked at him with wide eyes, in disbelief.

I looked at the doctor, "Can you give us a second to talk, please?" I asked the doctor.

"Yes, of course. Take as long as you need." He replied, leaving and closing the door behind him.

I got up off the bed and turned to look at Denny.

"Have you lost your mind?" I asked him.

       "What?" He asked.

"Why didn't you even take a second to think before you anwered him?" I asked him, frustrated.

"Because I already knew what he was gonna ask me. I've been through this before, remember?" Denny told me. Trying to make me understand.

      I sighed, "Yeah, I know."

"Then why are you getting so frustrated?" He asked me.

"Because I want you to do what's good for your health. Don't let racing keep you from looking after yourself." I told him.

"I'm doing what's right, Maddie. I'll be in more pain if I drive after having surgery. I'll get the surgery after Thanksgiving." He tried to reassure me. He waved me over to him and I sat on the edge of the hospital bed. He looked at me and held my hand. "I promise you. I'm making the right decision."

I smiled at him, "I trust you."
