"I was too blinded by someone who will never return to see the light of day again to realize what I truly have in front of me."
—
You had been visiting the streets of Liyue today, your heart heavy in your chest from the events from earlier. You had walked into the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor to see the Geo Archon with a picture in his hand of Guizhong, his finger had been tracing the outline of her figure.
You winced at the sight, knowing that Zhongli would never notice your own feelings towards him. You had respected Guizhong and her deeds for Liyue, but you had wished that Zhongli would move on to seek greener pastures rather than to dote on the past.
You let out a sigh and put your normal smile back on your face, trying to forget today's mistakes. You carried on to Liyue Habor and walked across the boardwalk, the oak planks beneath your feet had been creaking at every step. The wind blew in your hair and you watched the boats sail into the harbor, the sun sparkled off the waters.
You smiled at the sights of the beautiful Geo Nation, the Adepti had worked long and hard to protect their homeland. You wrapped your arms around yourself and sat down at the edge of the boardwalk, your legs dangling off the edge of it. You thought to yourself of how silly of a man Zhongli was, he had refused too many times to let someone new into his heart, even if you had been there for him for years.
Footsteps from behind you ripped you from your own thoughts, you turned to see Ganyu, her soft smile immediately brightening your face.
"Ganyu!" You hopped up and threw your arms around the Adeptus, it had been ages since you saw the woman. You heard her soft giggles and she said, "I thought I saw you wandering around here. I had to say Hello!"
You smiled at her warm welcoming, "How are you? Busy as ever?" You asked her and pulled away from her embrace to look at her fully, her face as always, in perfect condition.
She laughed as you inspected her face, "I'm fine! I promise, this was actually the first time I've gotten time off to myself in weeks." You smiled sadly at her response, you knew how busy she really was at Liyue Qixing.
"You know that you could always ask Lady Ningguang for time off! She'd always be happy to give it to you!" You groaned and narrowed your eyes at her, but her smile never faltered. "But I love my job! Anyways, where's Morax? He usually isn't too far behind you." She looked around for the archon, but your face darkened.
"He's at the Funeral Parlor, I decided I would go for a walk." Ganyu saw right through you, her pretty face turned into a frown. She put her hands on your shoulders and smiled softly, "Tell him, Y/N." She said and you were confused at her words.
