"I'm afraid that someone would use you against me, or possibly worse. I couldn't bear to see it happen."

Bruises had replaced the color of your skin on your legs, scratches and old wounds had been on your arms, a black eye and cracked lip for your face.
It was dark in the basement of whatever hell hole you were being kept in, it was cold and you were with other scholars who had been taken hostage. The kidnappers had beaten you, stripped you of freedom, starved you and stole whatever hope you had left in your heart.
Your ribs had been showing through your skin, your hair was matted and your hands shook with fear.
All you wanted now was to hear the General's voice one more time, once more is all you asked. The two of you were very fond of each other, a loving relationship you cherished together. His protective side in him you absolutely adored, especially when he lowered his walls around you.

Flashback
The two of you were at the Akademiya, you had been giving the General his requested information about the Sages. They had been up to no good and while you had been an apprentice, you took the opportunity to attempt to figure out what they were planning.
But little did you know, you weren't as sly as you thought.
Cyno had approached you with a cold expression, a chill slowly ran up your spine at his glare.
"Do you have what I requested?"You nodded slowly and said, "Perhaps somewhere with less attention? There are ears and eyes everywhere." You warned him and took him to your own room on one of the higher levels of the Akademiya.
You unlocked the door and walked in, holding the door for him. The moment you locked it behind you, a sigh escaped both of your lips.
Cyno was the first to make his move, he wrapped his arms tightly around your sides. His gray bangs brushing against your cheek as he lied his head on your shoulder.
"I missed you." He says with a quiet voice, which melts your heart. The General's voice was filled with a very warm tone, a tone only you would ever experience. You smiled at the feeling in your chest and embraced it, Cyno tumbling on the couch with you in tow.

Sumeru City was getting quieter and darker as the hours passed, your head was in the lap of the General Matra. Your eyes looked outside to see the starry sky covering the surface of the planet, nighttime had coated Sumeru City like a blanket.
