Quick And Safe

Ella POV

We are all upset about Trevor’s death.  Blake was the most in tears. April wanted to make him feel little better, so we did a “Circle Of Remembrance.” What we had to do is sit in a circle and say what we remember about the person who just died and mostly a memory nobody knows about but you and that person.

April went first “My favorite memory of Trevor is, when he used to come in the room and tackle us down. The memory nobody knows is…  He had a talk to me about what he saw, he saw Dad hit me… he told me he always hated him and wished he could kill him. He told me I deserve much more of a father then that. I will always remember Trevor as the Great Brave The Sweetest. “  She finished “Your turn Blake.”

He signed a tear fell from his blue eyes he started to confess. “When I was young my brother Blake use to tell me I was perfect, I wasn’t ugly, wasn’t fat, wasn’t stupid… I used to get bullied he would calm me down everyday after school and he would tell me that I am a man and I survived the bullied zone. My favorite memory is when he actually acted like a brother to me. I didn’t have a mom, dad was always at work. He was all I have… excuse me… had.” April looked at me and announced “Your turn Ella.”

I took a deep breath; I’m not much of letting feelings out so I’m going to try to for Blake. “Trevor was a man who I always looked up to, other than my brothers. He was a man that wasn’t related to the Dixon family. He was a Man of someone else’s family he understood pain, suffering, and most of all Love… Trevor was the type of guy you could always go running to if you are in trouble, he was there to hold you and let you know you aren’t a lone. The memory nobody knows is a few months ago I was going to kill my self with a gun Trevor saw the gun asked twenty questions. Then he grabbed me and held me during my melt down I cried in his arm. It was different no other man held me like that, I never had a father who held me while I cried, I never really cried in front of my brothers. When I finally stopped crying he told me that I was worth it. It was worth living, you would make something into a creation of beauty. We kissed… it wasn’t passionate… wasn’t anything it was like a protection kiss. The I’m always here if you need me type of kiss.”  By this time April jaw was dropped. Blake stopped crying.

Now it was time to say the last words to close the circle of remembrance.

“The man of so much strength, bravery, hearts please our beloved rest in paradise.”

Blake hugged us both and sniffed out “Thanks guys, you mean a lot to me.” He lay down, “I’ll take first watch” I announced. Blake and my sister were holding each other in their sleep.

I looked around to keep an eye watch on walkers; April came up with that name clever her…

I heard leafs rustling. My heart started pounding. A walker busted out and I quickly stabbed it. My reflects are getting faster. I wonder if Daryl and Merle are even looking for us. Are they thinking about us at least?

I remember dad use to get mad because our family made no sense. Daryl and I were alike but Merle favorite me. Merle and April are alike but Daryl favorite her. Us four always loved each other but just one more then others.

I stayed up all night looking around keeping watch.
