Chapter 24

Saving People One After Another

Ella's POV

I was lying in my bed. The light shined in my eyes to wake me. 

Today is the day; we have a meeting about Rick. Well shit I thought.

"Ella" I heard and I looked over to see Blake. "What" I responded lying back down.

"Do you know where April is?" he asked and I shook my head "She left, this morning." He put his hand on his chin. "Where is she?" I asked and he replied "How the hell am I suppose to know I asked you for a reason." He ran out the room. 

I got up and I looked around "Where is Carl" I thought out loud. 

"Ella?" I heard a voice I looked over to see Enid. "What?" I asked and got up and opened my drawer and slammed it when I got a shirt. I threw my shirt on and walked out the room as she followed me "Ella, we need to talk," she announced and I responded, "About what, I have nothing to say to you." I looked away but she grabbed me "It's about April!" she snapped. "What about her?" I asked. "She jumped the fence right when I came back, I only came back because I saw a heard of walkers."  She pulled me. I let go of her. I ran in my room and grabbed my crossbow and ran out and jumped the fence. Enid followed, "This way" she directed. We got where she was.  "April..."Enid went to shout but I pulled her away covering her mouth.  "Don't let her know we are here." I demanded I looked over to see April have falling. "Do you want to make things right?" I asked. She nodded "More than anything." "Well you must fight some walkers or at least distracted them. I'm going to put her in the tree" I responded. We ran over I shot the first walker in the head with an arrow, it was about to grab her. Enid stabbed a walker. I jumped over a log and got to her. "Cooperate with me please,"" I blurted out. 

Enid killed a walker that was about to grab me. "Thanks" I nodded and she nodded and killed the next one. I pulled April on to the tree. "I'm going to leave you, I know how you are. You want to be left alone. I know you are like that and want to feel like you have it. Be safe sister" I kissed her forehead "You better fight, or ill die and find you to kill you myself" I responded jumping down "Let's go" I demanded and she stared at me funny "You're leaving her?" she asked and I nodded "She would be pissed if I brought her back without a fight" she nodded "Strange sister" I froze "Yet she is the strongest" I kept walking. "I don't know you are pretty damn strong for a girl" she randomly blurted out. "No, I'm not as strong as her" I responded and got to the fence. "Need a boost?" I asked and she nodded I held my hands out to grab her foot to boost her up. 

We got over and she froze and randomly blurted out "why did you trust me so much, out there to fight the walkers while you had your hands full?" I signed, "Because I knew you wanted forgiveness some how" I kept walking then I saw Blake running to me. "Ella I was terrified, Glenn jumped the fence to follow that asshole" I shook my head, "I'll be back," I shouted.

I jumped the fence and ran to where I heard a gun shot. When I finally approach where the sound was coming from I saw walkers piled on someone screaming. "Shit" I shouted. I shot the one that was on top and grabbed the second one and stabbed it with the arrow I ripped out of the other walker's skull. The person underneath the pile stabbed the last one; it was Glenn he stared at me with a black eye and bloody face. He was breathing heavy. "Glenn?" I asked. He looked at me "What are you doing out the fence?" he asked and I responded, "I heard you were out here, who the hell shot you." "Nick" he shortly responded and started running I ran after him. He jumped Nick. "Ella get the hell out of here!" he shouted, "I'm going to do something not so pretty" he pointed a gun at his head. "Glenn, stop" I froze. 

"I'm not going to die because of you, Noah died, because of you" "Ella get out of here" he shouted and I ran. I ran as fast as my leg could. I reached the gate and jumped over but when I jumped over something grabbed me.  It was a walker? I questioned as I stabbed it. Rick comes running up. "Ella, there's one right there" he shouted pointing at the one that was about to grab me. I turned and stabbed it. One landed on Rick and he shoved his gun up the throat to the brain and shot. Blood spilled out, pouring out of the skull on to Rick's face. "Rick are you okay?" I asked and he nodded. He lunges the walker over his shoulder. "Come on, I got to do some show and tell" he joked. I nodded we walked really fast to the meeting. When we got there Rick slammed the walker on the ground. Some people screamed. "It got in it's self" he started the conversation. I stopped paying attention what he was saying because Abraham called me. "Ella, How are you?" he asked, "Alright I guess," I responded, "I was thinking how many of you I would have to kill to save you." Rick shouted I looked over "You're not one of us" I heard Pete shout. He had Michonne sword. "Shit" I mumbled "Calm down" Reg tried to calm him and he slit his throat with the sword. I jumped on him and held him. Abraham took over holding him down. "Reg!" Deanna kept shouting. "My lover" she cried. And slowly he slipped and passed. "Rick" she spoke up. Rick looked at her, "Do it" and with out a hesitation Rick shot Pete in the head.

We looked up and saw Daryl, Aaron, and some other guy. But Daryl was holding April. "Daryl!" I shouted. "What happen to April!" I shouted. "She lost her mind so I knocked her out" he responded. I nodded and slowly April woke up and spoke up with "Where am?"  "Home" I responded with a smile. She looked at her arm I was confused. "I'm not bit?" she questioned. "No?" I questioned her. "I must have dreamt Merle biting me" she spoke up. And jumped down to her feet. "No you actually lost it" Daryl responded. "I'm just glad you got away from the tree." I responded. And she looked shocked "It was you that put me on the tree?" she questioned and I nodded "You fell, and I know how you feel if someone does your dirty work so I put you on the tree and left we killed the walkers around you first. " she looked down at her hands. "I thought I killed those walkers..." "Maybe you did, maybe there was new ones" I responded, "Wait who is we?" she questioned "Enid and I" I answered. "That bitch" she shouted. "April" I heard Blake running up to us. "Get away from me" she shouted. "What did I do?" he questioned. "I've seen you hug Enid a lot" I spoke up. "Stay out of this" he shouted. "Sorry" I walked away from the conversation. I went home and I opened the door to see Carl holding Judith. "Where were you all day?" he questioned. 

"I was out, saving people one after another." I responded with a smile. 

He hugged me "I missed you" "I missed you too" I spoke up hugging him back.
