{ a/n- I've been reading so much Grace pregnant fic and this happened okay sorry }
Third Person POV
"Grace, really, I can cancel the business trip. I don't want to leave you, not right now." Chester murmurs, voicing this opinion once again. He wraps his arms around his girlfriend's torso and rests his hands lightly on her rounded stomach.
"You are going, that's decided and it's been decided for months. This little peanut," Grace replies, gesturing to the bump of her middle. "isn't due for another two weeks. Go and have fun. We'll both be here when you get back." Grace turns and faces Chester, taking his hands in hers. "Everything will be fine."
"When did you become so rational and calm?" Chester tries to joke, kissing Grace's cheek.
"I'm not totally sure." She answers with a laugh. "Alright you've got a flight to catch, so go grab your stuff."
"You're mothering me." Chester teases, ignoring her direction and tucking a piece of hair that's fallen from behind Grace's ear back in place.
"Sorry babe." Grace says, blushing and smiling shyly. Chester does go to get his suitcase then and Grace comes behind him to kiss his neck and mutter, "I love you." in his ear.
"I love you too. Stay safe and call me if anything goes wrong okay?" Chester reiterates from when he said it everyday the week leading up to his departure.
"I will, I promise. Don't worry yourself too much and actually remember to enjoy this trip a little bit." Grace reminds him, looking at him with concern. All he's done since the minute she told him about their baby was worry about Grace and their child. She understands and certainly appreciates his concern-it must be different for her having the little one inside her all the time-but he's forgotten to loosen up and stop worrying every once in a while.
Chester goes to the door and with one last kiss on Grace's lips he leaves, waving goodbye before pulling out of their driveway. Grace smiles, waving in return, happy to see him getting a break. "Your dad is the sweetest human, you know that? All he does is worry about you." Grace whispers to the baby, tracing small circles with her fingertips over her belly.

Later that day, Hannah invites Grace over to she and Sarah's place to chat and catch up. Sarah and Hannah recently adopted a five year old little boy so they've been quite occupied with him and Grace and Chester have been caught up in the whirlwind of preperation for their daughter's arrival.
Grace drives over to Hannah and Sarah's house, excited to see their son Ty and the girls themselves. Everything is so different now, comparing it to where they all were this time last year. Hannah and Sarah were in that honeymoon phase, Grace and Chester having just moved in together. How time goes by fast.
"Smellbig, it's great to see you." Hannah says, hugging Grace and letting her inside. Sarah hugs Grace too, pressing a quick kiss to her cheek as well. The little boy Tyler-nicknamed Ty-comes running over to hug Grace.
"Grace!" He exclaims, hugging her awkwardly. "Mommy and Daddy said you have a baby in your tummy." He remarks, making Grace laugh with his calling Hannah daddy.
"I do have a baby in my tummy. That means you'll have a playmate, eventually." Grace tells the little boy gently. Ty's eyes widen with excitement, the idea of a friend making him jubilant.
Sarah sneaks off to her office to get some work done and Hannah and Grace go to play with Ty. Ty plays with building blocks, stacking them strategically with the help of Hannah. Hannah is in the zone, happily reaching around Ty's small form to help him place a block. She'll place a small an almost unnoticeable kiss to his head at random times and Ty will turn to hug her tightly, just finding comfort in his mother's touch. Grace is content to watch the two interact, putting in an occasional comment about the tower they're constructing, until she begins to feel a sharp pain in her lower abdomen.
"Oh god," Grace hisses, placing a hand to her stomach, hoping to ease the pain.
"What's wrong?" Hannah asks, her head snapping up from the intense concentration of the building game.
"I just-ah-there's a sharp-fuck sorry I shouldn't swear-pain." Grace manages to say through gritted teeth as she exhales a painful breath.
"Are you in labour?" Hannah gasps, her eyes widening in concern and shock.
"I don't know," Grace says more calmly, the pain subsiding a moment. "I'm not due for another two weeks." She looks worriedly at her large bump, hoping to god the baby can hold on for a few more days until Chester gets back. "It's probably false labour pains. I've had them once before."
"Are you sure, Grace?" Hannah asks, hoping this isn't Grace's nature of pretending she's fine to not inconvenience others kicking in. Ty looks confusedly to his mother for explanation but she offers nothing, still focusing on her friend.
"I'm alright now. Thank you for being so concerned, momma Hart." Grace teases, hoping to ease Hannah's concern. Ty takes Hannah's hand and pulls her towards the TV, wanting to watch a movie. Hannah puts in Lion King and Sarah comes back down the stairs. Hannah, Sarah, and Grace sit at the dining room table just opposite the living room so they can keep an eye on Ty.
"Hannah said you had a contraction; are you alright?" Sarah asks.
"I'm fine, Sarah. Thank you for your concern, but this little lady isn't due for another two weeks." Grace reassures her. The girls chat, talking about parenthood and youtube and everything in between. Grace is listening to Sarah's story about an extremely uptight client from a few years back when another sharp pain runs through her abdomen.
"Shit," Grace mutters, running a hand anxiously through her hair. "This one's-oh god-this one's worse."
"Grace should we take you to the hospital?" Hannah inquires, taking her friends hand.
"Yeah that would be a-" Grace begins, stopping to let out a deep breath before continuing, "that would probably be a good idea." Sarah helps Grace stand, sliding an arm around her waist and helping her walk out to their car. Hannah picks up Ty, balancing him on her hip and pulling out her phone to call Chester.
"Where are we going Momma?" Ty asks.
"Grace is having her baby, so we're going to the hospital." Sarah answers. They drive to the hospital, Hannah talking to Chester over the phone on the way. Grace's contraction pains ease in the car and she takes Hannah's phone to talk to Chester.
"Grace I knew I shouldn't have come I'm so sor-" He begins.
"Do not apologize Chester. This is in no way your fault, it's nobody's fault. Baby girl just decided to make her debut a little early is all." Grace comforts him.
"I'll be on the first flight back to Los Angeles." Chester says, rushing about to get himself packed and book a flight.
"Hopefully you'll be here before she's born, but if you're not, we'll both be waiting patiently to see you." Grace answers.

Many long hours and multiple contractions later, Chester finally pulls into the hospital parking lot. He races through the halls, looking for Grace's room. He passes through the waiting room, saying a quick hello to Mamrie, Hannah, and Sarah. Ty is asleep in Hannah's lap at this point.
"Gracie," Chester says in a hushed whisper when he sees her, hair pushed back and sweaty, tears staining her face. But nonetheless, she's still smiling. "I'm so sorry baby."
"Don't be sorry Ches, there's nothing we could do." Grace replies, her hands running over her bump. She's savouring the few moments without pain before another contraction. When Grace is fully dialated, the doctor instructs her to push. She grips Chester's hand so tightly her knuckles turn white and he looses feeling but neither let go.
"Shit, this hurts like hell," she says, her voice tight and strained.
"It's almost over darling, we'll meet our girl soon." Chester assures her.
Three more big pushes and then the room is filled with soft, gentle, perfect cries. A small, warm baby is placed on Grace's chest. Grace reaches a careful hand up to hold her baby, tears falling steadily as she presses a delicate kiss to the little girl's forehead.
"Welcome to the world, my little love." Grace says, her full attention on the baby who decided to make her first appearance while her father was away.
