Chester's POV
A bright full moon shines above as I drive along the back roads of Californina, my girlfriend by my side.
"Where are we going, Ches?" Grace asks.
"Somewhere special." I tell her.
I want this night to be perfect. I can see the gravel road that I have to pull onto to reach the pond where I want to go. Grace keeps shooting me these looks, like she thinks I'll crack and tell her where we are headed.
"You're cute face isn't going to work this time!" I tease her.
Grace simply smirks, giving me her ring finger upwards.
"You aren't worth the middle finger then." She teases back.
We pull into the gravel, and I put the car in park. I rush to her side and open the door for her.
"What a gentleman we are tonight." Grace says, laughing lightly.
I smile and take her hand. I lead her to beside the pond, the stars twinkling above, the crickets chirping around us. I slip my other hand into my pocket, feeling for the small little box.
"Grace Anne Helbig," I begin, getting down onto one knee. "I've loved you from the first time I saw you. You were a stranger, a beautiful stranger that I wanted to know. A now, I do know you. I know how bright your smile is, how contagious you laugh is, how you bite your lip when your nervous, and how you crinkle your nose when you concentrate. And I know that I love you more than I ever have. I want to be able to love you, forever and infinity. Will you grant this, and marry me?"
I can see her beautiful brown eyes glazed with tears, a small one slipping down her cheek.
"Of course I'll marry you Chester." She says, smiling that smile that always makes my heart squeeze and my stomach get butterflies.
I slip the ring onto her slender finger, and pull her close.
"I love you." She whispers.
Before I can tell her I love her back, she's kissing me, her lips crushing mine passionately.
