{ a/n- thank you all so much for reading, you're so sweet. :) }
Grace's POV
I hear the small little cry, just down the hall, before it echoes through the monitor.

"It's your turn." Chester mumbles.

I raise my eyebrows at him, sliding out of bed.

"It was also my turn last time, Ches." I remind him.

He laughs a little, moving to follow me, but I wave him away.

"I'll get her, it's fine."

I walk to the room across the hall, pushing the door open quietly. Elise is standing up, using the crib railing for support, tears on her face.

"What's wrong sweetheart?" I ask.

She puts her arms out towards me, another small whimper escaping her mouth.

"Momma." She murmurs.

I pick her up gently, and she rests her small head on my shoulder. I wipe the tears from her eyes and kiss her cheek.

"Are you okay, Elise?" I ask her.

"Bad dream." She whispers, the r in dream coming out like a w.

"Oh baby, you're alright." I tell her softly, rocking her back and forth.

I sit in the little rocking chair in the corner of Elise's nursery, and Elise curls up in my lap. I stay with her until she's asleep again. I smile, placing her back in the crib. She has her tiny thumb in her mouth, and her wild black curls are splayed on the bed.

"You're a great mom, you know." Chester says from behind me.

I turn to him, and he hugs me tightly.

"Thank you." I answer.

It's so odd, waking up to have Elise everyday. Not even a year ago, I was so set on not having kids. Then we had Elise, and I could not be happier to have such a sweet baby girl.

She's my whole world.
