{ a/n- I quite enjoy writing fics where they have a kid because it's literally one of my biggest dreams, so expect a lot. I mean, it's a shame if they don't procreate because they would make beautiful, funny, and talented babies. }
Grace's POV
I look over my shoulder as I back out of the driveway, careful not to drive on the grass. I can still hear Goose barking as we pull away.
"That dog is going to be the death of me." Chester jokes from the passenger seat, taking my hand gently in his.
I laugh at his remark, and turn left down the street. I hear a small little giggle from the backseat.
"You think daddy's funny?" I ask Elise, seeing her wide grin in the mirror of the car.
"Yeah." She says, nodding her head.
I roll my eyes, still smiling, watching our little girl play around with her toys in the backseat. Our little girl with her dark curls and bright chocolate eyes, her sweet smile and amazing laugh.
"You ready for kindergarten?" Chester asks El, turning to face her.
"I'm ready!" El exclaims happily.
She's been waiting for her first day of school all summer. I pull into the elementary school parking lot and park the car. Chester gets out and I go to help Elise unbuckle her car seat. When I get to her, I find she's already done it.
"I'm a big girl, I can do it all by myself now." She says proudly.
"You sure can sweetie." I assure her.
Elise grasps my hand tightly with her right, Chester's with her left. Her small little Frozen backpack bouncing as she skips to the front door.
"Alright El, you ready to go in?" Chester asks her.
"Of course!" She answers.
I watch Chester embrace her tightly, kissing the top of her head, and smoothing the skirt of her red dress.
"Bye honey, love you." He tells her.
"Love you daddy!" She says back.
I go over to her, trying to hold my back the tears threatening to spill out.
"Have fun okay?" I remind her, my voice wavering.
"You're upset." Elise states, frowning.
A small tear slips out, and I quickly wipe it away.
"You're just so grown up, and I'm going to miss having you home with me all day." I tell her.
"I'll miss you too mommy." El says, hugging me.
I hug her back, giving her a big squeeze before letting go.
"I love you." She tells me, kissing my cheek.
"Love you too El."
Chester takes my hand and waves to Elise as she goes into the building.
"See you soon!" I call, waving.
"See you soon!" She answers, running giddily inside.
