Grace's POV

"Come on, Grace, it'll be fun!" Chester insists.

I glare at him as he leans against the doorway of our bathroom.

"Watching a horror movie while Hannah and Sarah scare me isn't my idea of fun." I remind him.

Hannah and Sarah invited us to theirs for a double date movie night.

"I'll protect you." Chester says.

"Fine." I relent.

I pull my hair into a messy bun on the top of my head, and slip on a sweatshirt.

"Let's get this over with." I announces as Chester leads me to the car.

"Why do you hate horror movies so much?" Chester asks.

"I don't know, they're just terrifying to me." I reply.

We drive the short distance to Hannah and Sarah's. When we knock, Hannah opens the door.

"Smellbig! You came!" She exclaims, hugging me.

"This idiot made me." I say, elbowing Chester.

"Hey, stop it!" He responds, playfully grabbing me around the waist.

I laugh as he pulls me close, kissing my forehead.

"Come on in, you two." Sarah calls from inside.

We head inside, and go to the couch. Chester sits down and I snuggle up next to him. Hannah goes to the TV, and pulls up the movie we're going to watch.

"Not Paranormal Activity!" I exclaim.

"Yessss!" Hannah shouts.

I bury my face into Chester's shirt, and he holds me tight.

"It'll be alright sweetie." He whispers.

Sarah grabs Hannah and practically carries her to the couch.

"Let's get this show on the road." Sarah says.

Hannah presses play, and as soon as the first stupid, creepy thing happens, I'm hiding against Chester again. I hear a loud bang from the surround sound speakers, and yelp.

"Are you okay, babe?" Chester asks me.

I don't answer, just hold more tightly to him. He kisses the top of my head, and whispers sweet, calming things in my ear. The movie ends, and I'm actually smiling a little bit.

"Thank you Chester." I tell him.

"I'm always here to protect you, and don't you forget that." He reminds me.

I pull him close, and can see his smile reach his eyes.

"I'll never forget that."

His soft lips brush mine, and I grip his shirt as he cups my face. Tonight wasn't so bad after all.
