Chapter 11

LIZZIE'S POV:
"Come on then" I say taking Ry's hand. I really hope this isn't a fail. I know how much Riley hates grocery shopping. We go inside and I grab a cart. "Do you want to go in the cart?" I ask Riley and she shakes her head. "I walk pwease" she says. I think for a second as I know that Riley might throw a fit over something so it might be better to have her in the cart. "Maybe you could go in the cart for a little...." I start but Ry cuts me of with a whine. "You can hold my hand Riley!" Rose says grabbing Ry's wrist. "You be careful!" Scar calls as Rose and Ry walk ahead. I push the cart as we go down to the vegetable isle. "Do you want potato or broccoli?" I ask Riley but she ignores me. "Ry, mummy's talking to you" I say. Riley looks at me for a second and then ignores me. She goes to walk away but I grab her hand. "Hey mummy is speaking to you" I say. She frowns and tries to loosen my grip. I lift her up and she squeals loudly. "Riley I know you're grumpy because you got woken up but you cant be naughty" I tell her and she whines resting her head on my shoulder. Scarlett comes over to us with Rose "I got some carrots and parsnips are they okay?" I nod and she puts them in the cart. "Not dem Aunty Scarlett" Riley says sadly. "Not what honey?" Scar asks and Riley points the carrots. "Dey owange and I no like dem" she says resting her head back on my shoulder.

RILEY'S POV:
I'm not very happy that I was woken up! I'm not in a very good mood. I just want to cuddle with mummy in bed but instead we have to go shopping! It's not fair. I don't want to. We finish shopping and I only cry a few times. I end up falling asleep on mummy's shoulder as we get down to the section with all the chocolate.

I wake up in the car and as I sit up I bump my head on my car-seat. I cry out loudly "MUMMY I HIT MY HEAD!!" mummy turns around in the car as Aunty Scarlett is driving and sees me crying. "Oh no honey. What did you hit it on?" she asks not sounding worried. Why isn't mummy worried? "Car-seat" I shout. I hate the car-seat so much and now it's hurting me! I never want to go in there again! "Don't shout beautiful. We're nearly home and then we can have a cuddle" mummy says. Rose looks over at me "Why are you crying?" she asks. "I hurt" I snap at her. Rose scowls at me "Well that's not my fault" she says to me. "I no say it was" I say back. "Okay girls don't bicker please" Aunty Scarlett says as we pull up onto Aunty Scarlett's drive. Mummy comes around and lifts me out the car and kisses my head. "Mummy's here baby" she says rocking me slightly. I don't want cuddles anymore. "No" I say pushing her. "You don't want cuddles?" mummy asks. I whine and slide down her. She puts me on the floor and I run off inside the house. I don't really know my way around here so I just run to a big bedroom.

LIZZIE'S POV:
I let Ry run off not really sure where she's going. I go inside and follow her up to Scar's bedroom. I open the door and see her climbing into her bed. I open the door fully "Ry you cant just climb in somebody's bed honey" I say lifting her up but she wiggles around out of my grip. "Ry come back!" I say starting to get annoyed now. She's in a bad mood but I cant be bothered to deal with a naughty toddler. She runs off down the corridor into Rose's room. "Riley Olsen!" I call as she waddles up to Scar who's playing with Rose. "Young lady you get back here and talk to me before I lose my patience" I say trying to sound strict. Riley looks at me before climbing onto Rose's bed. "Hey that's mine!" Rose says pushing at Riley. "Riley come here" I say and grab her arm gently and pull her off the bed. I kneel down and stand her in front of me. She starts whining and stomping her feet. Great, it's meltdown time. "Riley you're being really naughty and I don't like it. Can you come and calm down on the sofa with mummy?" I ask. She thinks for a second before she hits me. I grab her hand before she hits me again. "Riley you're going on time-out. You don't hit mummy" I say before lifting her up and carrying her downstairs to Scar's study room. I grab a stool and sit her on it. "You stay here until I fetch you young lady" I say as Riley screams and kicks everything in her reach. I shut the door and walk into the living room before I start crying. I'm so tired and I don't want to have to get mad at her.

RILEY'S POV:
Mummy sits me on time-out and walks away. I cry loudly as I'm sorry and want her back. After what feels like ages mummy comes in and kneels down in front of me. She looks sad and cross. "Riley you have been very cheeky and I'm not happy with you right now. Can you say sorry?" she says to me. I think for a second before jumping at mummy to give her a hug. "I sowwy" I say before starting to cry a little. "No tears okay? Do you need changing?" she asks me. I nod and she lifts me up. "Come on then" mummy says carrying me up to the bathroom. She gets me changed but I don't fight her like normal because I've already been naughty. I do feel bad for mummy though. Once she changes me I stand up and hug her leg making her laugh a little. "You okay bub?" mummy asks and I shake my head. "No?" she asks lifting me onto the counter. "Why not honey?" she says brushing some of my hair out my face. "Cos I beed mean and hurt mummy" I mumble looking down. "It's okay. You got grumpy and I lost my patience" mummy says kissing me all over my face making me giggle. "I no in trouble?" I ask and mummy shakes her head. "No honey but you don't hit adults" she says and I nod giving her a bug cuddle.
