~ALLIE POV~

"Fabulous ball. Hey, Barabbas," Dad called.

"Bernard!" The elf growled.

"Bernard. Can we take a direct flight back to reality or do we have to change the planes in Denver?"

"Larry take Charlie here and get him some chow." Bernard said.

"No, Larry don't do that. Charlie!"

"He'll be okay." Coco assured.

"Both of you follow me. You'll want to get out of those clothes, Santa. And you're half blue." Bernard said, directing the last part at me.

"No, look, Barnaby, Coco, I just wanna go home." Dad told them.

We followed Bernard into a bigger room, that was filled with toys, and more kids.

"Look I'm not Santa Claus!"

Dad shook off Santa's coat.

"Did you or did you not read the card?" Bernard asked.

"Yeah, I read the card."

"What about you?"

"I-what card?" I asked.

"The card in the hat!" Coco exclaimed.

"There was no card. Just the hat. The hat was laying on the ground, with no card." I flared.

Bernard seemed as annoyed as I was. He walked close enough until he was up in my face.

"There should of been a card. So either you threw it out with out reading it, or its still in the hat."

"Well its not." I growled.

Dad pulled me back to his side as I glared at Bernard.

"Did you feel the magic?" Coco asked.

"I felt something." I told her. "It sent a chill up my spine. That's it. No magic."

Bernard and Coco shared a look. Some of the other elves had stopped and were whispering to each other in awe.

"You know what this means?" Coco asked.

"Yeah." Bernard whispered back to her.

"Bernie, no one's felt the magic in centuries! This is great!"

Bernard shook his head whispering something I couldn't hear.

"Anyway, your Santa and you," He pointed at me. "Are Santa's assistant. In putting on the hat and jacket, you accept the contract."

"What contract?"

"The card in the Santa suit. You said you read it, right? So when you put on the suit, you fell subject to the Santa Clause. And when Allie put on the hat, she fell subject to being Santa's assistant."

"The Santa Clause? You mean the guy that fell off our roof?"

"No, no, no. Not Santa Claus the Person, Santa Clause the clause." Bernard explained poorly.

"What?"

"Look, you're a business man right?"

"Yeah."

"Okay. A clause, as in the last line of a contract." Coco explained better then her brother.

Dad and I shared a strange look.

"You got the card?" Bernard asked.

Dad took it out and handed it to Bernard.

"Okay, look, the Santa Clause. In putting on this suit and entering the sleigh, the wearer waives any and all right to an previous identity, real or implied, and fully accepts the duties and responsibilities of Santa Clause in perpetuity until such time that wearer becomes unable to do so by either accident or design."
