~ALLIE POV~

"Hey Coco?"

"Yeah?"

"How old are you?"

"In human or elf years?"

I glanced over at her confused. "Elf."

"932."

I gave her a wide eyed look. "And in human?"

"8 years old."

I nodded slightly, but did a sudden double take. "Did you say 932?"

Coco nodded as if it wasn't the craziest thing in the world. "How old are?"

"15."

She nodded. "So you'll be fifteen for about forever."

"Forever!?" I asked.

Coco nodded. "Bernard's been 16 since 1702."

I gave her a confused look. I didn't say anything, but I laid back down with a heavy sigh.

❄❄❄

It had been about six years since dad and I became Santa and Santa's little helper. I was currently in my room when loud music started playing. I sighed angrily under my breath as I stood up and followed the music, I made it to the stable and saw dad and Bernard standing there looking angrily at Curtis.

"Curtis, you are 900 years old! Grow Up!" Bernard snapped angrily.

"Don't worry, Curtis." I said, walking in. "Bernard's just a Grinch."

"Allie," Dad warned.

Bernard gave me a nasty look and stormed off.

"Bernard!" Dad called as the black haired elf stormed away.

We all followed after him and Curtis began talking. "You know, I wasn't breaking any rules. In fact, according to the handbook-"

"Oh, the handbook," Bernard mocked. "Curtis, do you sleep with that thing?"

The shorter elf ignored him and continued, "According to the book, elves are encouraged to listen to music. It makes them jollier. It also makes them more alert."

"Alert for what?" I demanded.

"Well, for instance-LOOK OUT!"

The four of us ducked and watched as a reindeer flew above us out of control. I glanced behind me just in time to see him crash into a banner and break off some bricks from some nearby houses.

"Was that Prancer?" Dad questioned.

"Looked more like Vixen to me." I said. "Who was it?"

"Chet." Curtis answered.

"Chet?" I repeated.

Bernard let out an angry sigh as he snatched his cap up from the girl and brushed the snow off it. The four of us walked back inside and I saw many elves working to get toys completed for Christmas. I watched as Dad got called to the toy car department and a few minutes later Dad had fixed it.

"Hey, Allie!" I heard Coco call. "Can you help me?"

I saw Bernard's head snap over to her and he nearly got whiplash from how fast he did at. "Why do you want her help?"

She shrugged. "I want Allie's opinion on something."

"You don't want mine?" He said, looking like a hurt puppy.

Coco shook her head and walked up, grabbing my hand and dragging me over to her station. I turned to look at Bernard and Curtis, watching as my dad walked back over to them. Bernard watched us with jealously filled eyes, and he began walking again.
