~ALLIE POV~

I sat in Bernard's house with him, watching as he paced around.

"Bernard, relax." I sighed. "Dad, Curtis and Coco have everything under control."

"But Curtis and Coco are so young," He stressed. "They can't do this!"

I rolled my eyes. As you can see, Bernard is the supportive one out of the two of us.

"Come on Bernard, they work well together. I mean, they have been dating since like, last July." I told him, before I quickly covered my mouth.

Bernard whipped towards me, his black curls flying. "What did you just say?"

I quickly lifted my mug of hot chocolate up and took a drink, draining the cup before standing up muttering how I was going to get more.

"No, Allison! Tell me I heard you wrong!"

I ignored him, saying all kinds of elf curses in my head. Fun fact, when you turn into an elf, you loose the ability to say actual curse words.

But I couldn't believe I told Bernard of Coco and Curtis. Coco had begged me not to tell because Bernard was very territorial and protective. He claims that he's not, but I've seen him in action. Like the time I was hit with the ball while the elves played tinsel football. Bernard had screamed at them for an hour and made them clean the stables for a week even though the ball just barely grazed me. He had forced me to rest for three days after that. Though he claims he didn't freak out that badly.

The cast he had forced me to wear begs to differ.

That was nearly a month ago though. But now, Dad had decided to force Bernard and I to take few months off, saying Bernard worked too hard and too much and he needed a break. Dad decided that the best and only way for Bernard to relax would be for me to stay with him, so here I was. I turned around from getting my mug of coffee and gasped as Bernard appeared in front of me.

"Bernard," I sighed, my hand on my chest. "Don't do that."

"Is Coco really seeing Curtis of all elves?" He asked. "She could do so much better. Like Cade from the painting department. Or Lawrence from building. Or Lester from typing. Or anybody but Curtis."

I rolled my eyes, setting my mug down. "Curtis is a nice, respectable elf."

"He created a fake Santa that took over the workshop, put us in house arrest, and tried to give all the kids coal!" Bernard snapped. "But yes, he's a very nice respectable elf."

"Cut him some slack."

Bernard said nothing, but leaned forward resting his head on my shoulder. I wrapped my arms around him, patting his back. In a shimmer of sparkles, I found us sitting back on the couch, Bernard having his head pressed into my stomach.

"Come on Bernard," I said. "We're supposed to be relaxing."

"I am," He mumbled, his faced nuzzling into my shirt.

"Now you are," I said.

I took his hat off, and ran my fingers through his curls. I heard Bernard's breathing even out, and I glanced down at him as he fell asleep.
