~ALLIE POV~
I listened as Charlie began explaining to Dad all the cool stuff that was installed, when he turned to me and said, "We put a parachute in your suit just in case you, ya know."
"Thank you, Charlie." I squeaked.
"Allie, you okay back there?" Dad asked.
"No," I squealed. "No, I'm not!"
"What–oh, your fear of heights." Dad said, finally realizing.
"Yeah," I hissed.
We landed on the roof, and I helped Dad unload the bag. We made our way down the firepit and I handed Dad each present. I watched as Dad tucked in a little girl, and she woke up and smiled.
"You're fatter this year."
How nice, I thought.
"Thank you very much."
Dad began to drink the milk, and he pulled a face. "I think the milk is sour."
"You said you were lactose intolerant." The little girl said.
"I did say that, didn't I?" Dad asked. "Thanks for remembering. Now go back to sleep."
"Merry Christmas, Sara."
"Merry Christmas, Santa."
Dad headed up the fireplace, and right before I could follow, I heard Sara say, "Merry Christmas, Miss Elf."
For some unknown reason, that brought a smile to my face. Despite the fact I wanted to snap at how I wasn't an elf, I instead said, "Merry Christmas, Sara."
I made my way up the chimney, and Charlie wanted to stop at Mom and Neil's house. I shook my head, getting a bad feeling about this. We landed on the roof and headed inside. Dad started humming, and out of the corner of my eyes, I saw flashlights.
"Dad," I whispered.
Suddenly, four officers popped out, and I wished to be anywhere but there, and in a flash of sparkles, I felt myself disappear.
