I was standing in a forest, the sky was dark and gloomy yet it looked to be mid-day. Birds suddenly came from nowhere, flying above me. I started to walk, knowing I was dreaming but wanting to know if it would give me a sign like the others. I made it out to another river bank, similar to one I had seen with my mother. "What is going on?" I asked myself.
Looking over the water, I noticed a Heron before rolling my eyes. These dreams were really started to get on my nerves. The heron was my family's symbol, of course, so I knew this dream would be about my brother who may or may not be alive.
A blond head of hair emerged from the tree line closest to the Heron. This wasn't news or a surprise, both my parents had blonde hair and so did I. His rune placement, though, looked very familiar. The soundless rune was placed upon his collarbone/neck region. And just as he was about to turn around to show me his face, I woke up.
I took a deep breath, sitting up and noticing Alec sleeping next to me. I knew that until I found out who my brother was, it wouldn't show his face. My subconscious controlled my dreams and because I hadn't yet put a face to him, he was faceless.

I had barely seen Alec after this morning because he had been with Isabelle, Jace and Clary were working together, and Magnus had been busy as well with clients. I really just spent some me time in my own room, practicing magic and trying to forget my dream since it was more irritating than helpful. A knock sounded on the door and after calling out that it was open, Alec popped his head in.
"Hey, we're going to Hunters Moon, there was an attack. Want to come?" His face was bright, although he looked somewhat tired. I nodded before grabbing my phone and walking with him as we headed to get our weapons.
"I know we haven't been able to spend a lot of time together," He started and I finished messing with my knives before looking up at him. He walked closer to me. "But I really do want to take you on a date when we get a chance." He looked into my eyes and I smiled at him before nodding.
"I would love that more than you know. I feel like every time we finally get a chance to be us, together, something else pops up." I let out a soft laugh. His arms made their way around my shoulders, pulling me close to him for a brief moment before pulling back but I wanted more. I placed my hands on his cheeks and kissed him. I could feel how much we both wanted this, needed it. Someone coughed, making me pull back fast and look over at a smirking Jace and Clary. Mine and Alec's faces were a bit red but Jace ignored it.
"I hate to interrupt but we have somewhere to be, remember?" He was borderline laughing and I rolled my eyes before leading the way out to the opening and creating a portal. We landed in the Alley behind the Hunters Moon before turning on our invisibility runes.
