I opened another portal, it being a few years after my first attempt to find my way home. I glanced around and didn't find anyone so I closed my eyes, thought of home, family, warmth, and jumped through.
I wasn't sure where I had landed, only that it was different than the last place I had been. This time, it was in a large room, designed like a victorian goth. Hearing noises made me jumped behind a shelf that held wooden staffs and worries etched its way onto my face.
"Jace, you have to give me a chance to fight back, it's not all about offense." A raven-haired boy spoke to a blond one.
"It is for me. Why give demons the chance to fight back when I can kill them fast?" The blond, Jace, smirked at the slightly taller boy, who just rolled his eyes.
A whip came out and I flinched but stopped myself as the two boys fell to the ground.
"The element of surprise can also do wonders." This time, it was a raven-haired girl who looked similar to the boy. The two on the ground groaned while she laughed.
"Really, Izzy?"
The girl glanced over at the shelf I was hiding behind and squinted her eyes before coming over as the boys got back up and ignored her.
"Hey, are you new?" She asked me and I almost started hyperventilating.
"I-I shouldn't be here, please don't tell him."
"Tell who?"
"I'm sorry I have to leave- I have to go." I ran off hoping to run into an empty room before throwing my hands around, and creating a portal to jump back through to what I knew- Valentine's hiding spot.
But, arriving back into a room, I noticed that it wasn't mine and I ran along the hallways trying to find it before they noticed. Rushing into mine, Valentine stood there, anger seething from him as he grabbed my hair and pulled me down some stairs as I slipped down them without any leverage to walk on.
He threw me to the side.
"Where were you?" I said nothing as he yelled. "Fine, you don't wanna talk, you'll have to be punished. I'm doing this for your own good." I screamed as he dragged me over to the fireplace, grabbing another branding tool and forcing them to hold me down. I wiggled around, fighting from their grasp but no such luck.
The red hot brand touched my skin and I screamed. It was deafening to anyone near as it went on for as long as it did.
"Bianca." The voice woke me up, and I noticed the sweat dripping from me as Alec leaned over to me. "Bianca, are you okay? You screamed but this time you didn't wake up when you did it."
