I threw open the doors with my magic, causing all eyes to look at me as I walked through the place like I owned it. I had changed after leaving Idris, now wearing a hot flowy dress that had two missing pieces on my midsection. The skirt of it was short, ending mid-thigh. I wore heels as well, pulling the outfit together with a bee necklace and a hand chain bracelet that connected from my wrist to my middle finger, courtesy of Magnus Bane.
I flipped my air as I stopped at one of the Ops tables, looking at the screen of NY.
"Where have you been?" Alec came up to me and I didn't even look at him.
"I was in Idris, family business." My eyes grazed the screen before glancing over at him, scanning Alec up and down and smirking. "You look good, new jacket?" I tilted my head to the side lightly.
He scrunched his eyebrows at me but the blush on his cheeks told me he took the compliment before leaning in closer, "Can we talk? Somewhere private?" His cologne circled around me and it made me weak in the knees.
"What for?" I turned my attention back to the screen, scrolling around the state.
He sighed, "I need to apologize to you." My eyes flickered to his again, staring into them.
I could tell he meant it, sincerity and sadness washed around in his brown eyes like a wave pool.
I wanted to melt into him but I stayed casual, "You have nothing to apologize for. You were right, the old me didn't belong, but the new me does. You see, my secret powers kept me from truly being myself so now that it's out in the open- since I told my grandmother this morning, I am fully prepared to let my true nature fly. If anything, you helped in that." I turned back around, controlling my breathing.
He went to speak again, but I stopped him, this time stepping closer until our faces were almost brushing against one another. "Alec," My voice came out in a soft whisper. I could feel his pulse quicken as I placed my hands on either side of his face. His eyes darkened as my lips brushed his, not quite touching in the way both of us wanted, but enough to make him- and, frankly, me- needing more. "Can we please get back to work?" He said nothing and I pulled away, strutting up the steps in the heart of the institute and walking toward the training room.
Suddenly, but surely, a scream erupted through my eardrums. I crouched over, in pain, It was manageable after the things I had been through, but still, it was excruciating and I had no idea what it was. I groaned in pain and it suddenly stopped.
"Bianca? What's wrong?" He put his hands on my sides and helped me stand up straight.
I glanced at his hands before looking him in the eyes. I could see the sorrow and I almost felt it too. His hands were warm and I wanted to soak in his touch. We were way too close for what I was trying to do. Because all this did, was make me want to kiss him until I went mad.
