"Aldertree wants to speak with you." Another Shadowhunter opened the door to where I was sitting with Alec. I sighed, knowing this would happen soon, and stood up. I left a gentle kiss on the raven-haired man's forehead before slipping from the room and following the Shadowhunter towards this Aldertree's office. I still hadn't met him, and I was hoping he'd forget about me.
I knocked on the door. "Come in." He announced before I opened it and stepped in. He motioned for me to sit on the chair opposing him and I did as told, not wanting to put up much of a fight yet since I'm still healing.
He only stared at me, for what seemed like the longest few minutes. I didn't know what to say and I knew I would speak the truth, at least about myself.
"You wanted to see me?" I asked the man, breaking the silence. He gave a small smirk before staring into my eyes like a creepy man. I didn't get good vibes from him, in fact, they were more than the opposite.
"Yes. I wanted to ask you about your time with Valentine on his ship. For protocol reasons, of course." He crossed one of his legs over the other. "I know it will be hard to speak about but I need as much detail as possible."
I nodded at the man. "What do you want to know?"
This made his smile grow. "Was Jace Wayland on the ship anywhere?"
"I only saw him a three times, to be exact. And before you ask, the first time was when Valentine forced us to fight each other. But Jace was trying to not hurt me. He was holding back. The second time, he came in with Valentine, pretending to be on his side so he could get answers from the man. Valentine tried to get me to turn on my kind, my family. He wanted me to join him. And when they left, after I denied obviously, Jace told me he was going to help me escape. The last time I saw him was when Clary, him, and I were escaping. Valentine is a monster and I will tell you whatever you want to know about my time on the ship but know that it is hard for me and I will not be subject to interpretation because everything I tell you is the truth."
He nodded, writing on a little notepad he had and shut it. His creepy smile was still there.
"And why did Valentine kidnap you?"
I froze on the inside. "I have no idea. Maybe he preferred me being with him after realizing I'd be with the very people he's trying to fight against. Maybe he's afraid of my family legacy. And considering I was being tortured by him for my entire life and then left to die, I have no idea why he'd rather just kidnap me again, He's a sick man and he deserves to die or pay for his crimes against the Downworld and against us." This answer seemed to please him for now.
"Okay, you may go. For now. But, if I have any more questions, I assume you'll be okay with answering them?" I nodded before getting up and leaving the room.
After making my way back to the room, I sat by Alec once more, giving Magnus enough room to do what he could for the man.
But, with all the runic power from the iratze running through with my own abilities, my body was exhausted and so was my mind.
