I stood inside Magnus' apartment, staring out the window at the cold hard rain, heart hurting and tears still streaming down my face.
It had been hours since Alec left me standing in the middle of the park alone and I ran straight here. Of course it had started raining too, but at least that gave me some comfort. I always enjoyed the rain.
"Little Bird, at least change into something warmer." Magnus' soft voice stated. I was still in the same dress.
"No. I deserve to be cold, for lying. He's right, Magnus. I don't belong there."
I heard him sigh, but I didn't look over when I feel him stand next to me. "Alec overreacted a bit and maybe someone will talk sense into him. You didn't tell anyone so you could protect everyone. You have impeccable power and a lot of it. Even I can sense how strong it is. If someone like Valentine were to get ahold of it, it would be chaos for the whole Shadow World." Of course his words make sense, and I knew he was right. It was the exact reason no one knew. But, when Alec told me I didn't belong there, he was confirming every fear I had being there.
I was the girl who was kidnapped by Valentine when I was 3, after everyone assumed I was dead along with my parents and brother- who apparently isn't even dead which still doesn't make sense. Valentine was also dead to the Shadow World until now. So after being a freak who 'came back to life', now I had powers and now anyone could know because Valentine already does.
I sighed, knowing Magnus was right and finally, reluctantly, going to change into warmer clothes.

After Alec rushed inside, he moved past everyone else, ignoring his sister calling his name and Jace trying to see what was wrong.
After speedily walking into his room, Alec runs his hands through his hair roughly, sliding them down his face in frustration. He sits on the edge of his bed, face in hands, and sighs harshly.
