I was pacing my room, wondering why Valentine had been acting... different since the summoning ritual for Azazel.
The greater demon had to have done something to him, but I wasn't sure what. Magnus hadn't answered my call earlier so I could only assume he was busy.
I left my room, wanting to speak with Valentine. Only to be stopped by Jace. "Hey, Blondie. Why don't you come help us look for the demon?" He asked. I guess my talk with Valentine would have to wait. I walked over to them, staring at the map of New York.
"Looks like he's gone as far south as the meatpacking district and then the trail goes cold."
"And it's no use to track dead bodies. With his ability to dematerialize, he could be anywhere."
Heels clicked over and I smiled widely at the healthy-looking Isabelle, "Maybe we can help?" I hugged her, finally looking at the blond man next to her.
He was decently cute, tall, with bright blond hair and blue eyes. But, I had seen him somewhere before. I just couldn't place it.
"Izzy!" Clary stated excitedly. "We've been so worried about you." She hugged her as well, "Where have you been?" Of course, Alec had told me about the phone call he had gotten from her, letting him know she was safe and recovering.
The raven-haired woman looked at Alec and me before back at the redhead. "Looking for Azazel." She turned to the man. "This is Sebastian Verlac from the London Institute. When the demon came after me, Sebastian saved my life." My eyebrows raised up at him.
"Oh, I simply lent a hand," His accent wasn't as thick as I'd assume.
"Sebastian's an expert on all things Azazel." I understood that she was trying to get us to like him, but she seemed pushy to me.
"When I studied abroad at the Paris Institute, I specialized in Greater Demons." He explained. Alec leaned over, giving out his hand.
"Thanks for saving my sister." He said. I subconsciously leaned closer to Alec when Sebastian looked over at me, after shaking Alec's hand. "I'm Alec."
"Yeah, thank you. I'm Jace." He also shook hands.
"Ah, the great warrior in the flesh. Your reputation proceeds you." He turned to Clary, "As does yours." He shook her hand. "You must be Clary, Valentine's daughter."
"Yeah," She let out a light laugh. "Don't hold it against me."
"Well, we don't choose our parents." Finally, he turned to me.
"And based on the blonde hair and you being in this little group, I can safely assume you are Bianca Herondale. The once lost but finally found, thankfully." He held out his hand and I shook it, only getting suspicious vibes from him. His hands were cold, seemingly like his aura and I didn't like it. But, I'd try to give him a chance.
