Lucy
It was later in the evening when Logan finally showed his face. I did not want to bother him the moment he came home so I waited at least thirty minutes until he settled in. I lightly knocked on his door, but he did not answer right away. So, I walked in without his permission.
"Lucy? What the hell are you doing in here?" He said harshly. I was stunned at what he just said to me. "Sorry, I just wanted to talk to you about something important!" I said. He sighed, "Fine. What is it?" He asked.
I sat down on his chair near his desk. I haven't seen his new room yet, it looks neat and well put together. "Well?" He said. "I want to know why you have been avoiding me... Did I do something wrong to upset you?" I asked.
He rolled his eyes and took a deep breath. "No, Lucy. I'm just dealing with a lot at school right now." He said. I knew that was a lie. He was acting this way before school started. "That's not the truth, and you know it. Come on, I am your sister. Don't you think I deserve to know why you hate me so much recently?" I asked.
"It is not that I hate you. It's just, whenever I look at you... I can't help but to imagine what it was like for you when you saw dad that night. I can't ever get that image out of my head and what it must've done to you." He said.
"Why did you not tell me this before?" I asked.
"Because... I was in bad shape after the accident. You were focused on moving, I was focused on worrying about starting a new school and moving away from my home!" He said. I gave him a light hug. "I'm sorry Lo, but you know you can tell me anything, right?" I said. He nodded his head.
"Yes, sis." He said half smiling. There is something wrong, I just know as a sister. I lightly smiled and walked out of his room, giving him some privacy. I just wanted to find out what was wrong. Is he having trouble in school like me? I know I cannot make assumptions, but I will find out. I walked back to my room and turned off my lights heading to bed for the next school day.
It was Friday already and I was looking forward to the weekend. At least it wasn't in detention, thankfully. I met up with Karina for lunch instead of Ethan. He stayed home because he got sick with the flu.
Karina rubbed her hands together excited to eat her lunch. "So, I heard there was a party tonight after the game. Want to go with me?" I crinkle my nose in disgust, I do not like high school parties. I never really went with Clay or Alyssa, we just hung out at the movies, or went to the bar in the city to hang out. I guess I never really experienced the thrill of these kinds of parties. I swallowed nervously, I really had no idea what to say to Karina. "I don't know. It's not a good idea, I don't really do parties." I said.
"Oh." Karina said with her head drooping down. I felt bad, honestly. I thought about it for a while and told myself to just live a little. This isn't Manhattan, you can have some fun while in school.
"Fine, I'll go. Only if we leave at a certain time!" I said. Karina's eyes grew wide and she smiled, I knew this would make her happy. Her curls bounced as she walked over to hug me on my side of the table. "Oh my gosh! Do you have anything to wear? How are we going to do your hair and makeup?" She said throwing all of these questions at me.
"Woah, calm down. I'll figure it out later today." I said.
"I'll pick you up at eleven thirty, the party does not usually start until twelve!" She said as the bell rang for third period. Gee, my parents are going to kill me for going to a party this late. I guess I'll have to convince them real hard to let me stay out late.
When I got home from school I asked mom and dad the big question. They didn't like the idea at first, but they quickly came up with a solution. If Logan went with me, I could go. But if not, I had to stay home.
"Please, please, please come with me Logan. I'll owe you big time for this." I said with a high pitched voice. He knew he could never deny me when I'm begging him like this. He rubs his hands over his head deciding on what to do. "Alright, I'll go with you. No funny business sis, don't make me look bad for my team." He said. Logan wasn't really one for parties either, he was never into that scene. He was a big believer on studying and getting good grades. Plus going to this party can give us a chance to bond.
Karina came just on time. I wore a black cut out top, with ripped jean shorts, and scandals. It normally does not get cold on Long Island until the end of October, beginning of November. Karina agreed to take Logan, this was her first time meeting him.
As we got to the party, the streets were filled with parked cars. I wonder who owns this house? It's huge and beautiful. Logan said hello to a few of his teammates, while Karina and I went to the kitchen.
"Want something?" She asked. I shook my head, "No!" I shouted over the loud music. Timmy Turned by Desiigner was playing in the background. It seemed like everyone from school was here at this party. The house became overcrowded and I lost Karina in the crowd that was forming in the kitchen.
I got pulled to the back of the living room. God dammit! I pulled out my phone trying to text Karina to see if she was okay. I looked around the room and spotted the two people I wanted to avoid tonight. Jayden and Marcus. Fuck! I muttered. I grabbed a drink from someone who was passing them out. I took at least three jello-shots. It felt so good to let go and be my true self for once.
No more hiding, no more pretending that I was someone with secrets. Just, the real me. Jayden immediately locked eyes with me. By the time he made his way over to me I was feeling the affects of the jello-shots. I took one more before he finally stood in front of me. He crossed his arms together and kept his gaze towards me. He was wearing black jeans and a tight fitted shirt that made his muscles peak through. God, why does he have to be this way?
Chapter four is now up! Hope you guys enjoyed.
