The Pain that Lingers

chapter thirty three: Should We Stop?

I got out of my car and parked it in the driveway. The spring air hitting my face felt good, it was still cold outside, but the weather will warm up soon. Possibly in may, but I'm not counting the days until summer. 

Mom and Dad were gone as usual, but Logan was here. I heard voices coming from his room. I leaned on the door to hear who is with him. Jayden? What is he doing here? I hear whispers but I could tell it was him. 

I closed my door to my room loud enough for them to hear it. I sat on my bed wanting to take a nap. I needed one, I'm tired and exhausted. I hear the door open after my fifteen minute nap. 

"Lucy,  you awake?" The voice asked. 

"mm" I mumble. 

I felt hands shake me. "What?" I grumbled. 

"Gee, sorry. I figured you'd want to talk. Candace told me what happened." Jayden said rubbing his head. 

"And?" I asked. 

"And, I wanted to say thanks for that." Jayden said. 

"Well she is your girlfriend." I say and put my head back on the pillow. 

"You know she's not." Jayden said. 

"Whatever-" I said.

"Don't be like that, please." Jayden says. 

"Like what?" I snapped. 

"I miss you, I want you, and I need you." Jayden said hovering over my body. I did not know what he was going to do next. I felt his entire body on top of mine. Common I was sleeping, I thought.  

Jayden wrapped his hands around my back and pulled me in under him. I felt him, I felt every last part of him hugging me right now. I missed him too, I missed smelling his scent, feeling his energy surround mine. 

I just stayed there, I don't know what came over me. I melted away at his touch. I started stroking his neck, he groaned, but very low. I moved my lips over his ear lobe and down to his neck. I began kissing his neck and leaving hickey's. Take that! 

I moved my hands down to his sweatpants, and stopped at his waistline. After teasing him I moved my hand further into his pants in his boxers as well. I felt his little Jayden getting hard. I stroke him and he was moaning so loud. 

"Fuck!" He moaned. He kept breathing hard, and heavily until I finished him off.  I took my hand out and placed it on his chest. "I missed that," He commented. I let my head fall on his chest and we fell asleep in this position. 

"We should stop. I don't want whoever is threatening you to go after your family or friends," I said as he woke up from a deep nap. 

"I know, I just miss you." Jayden says taking a piece of my hair and pushing it behind my ear. His eyes pierced mine. His look told me everything, he did not want this to end. But it had to. 

"You have to go, I need to get dressed." I said. 

"Where are you going?" He asked. 

"Out with Karina, she and I have stuff to talk about." I said. I lied to him because I wanted to protect him. I'm not going out with Karina, I just wanted him to leave. 

"Okay. Well, I'll see you around." He says with hope. 

"I guess." I said. He shut my bedroom door, and I got undressed. I hated lying to him, but I don't want to see him hurt.

Two weeks later... 

Its nearing April and we're having midterm exams. 

I'm nervous and sweating in places I didn't know I could sweat. 

"Relax. You will do great!" Harrison said with confidence. I wish I had his confidence that I'd do well. 

"Thanks. I'm hoping so," I replied. 

"You will. Just remember to breathe," He says. 

"I'll try," I said. 

"Good. Now lets vamos." Harrison said in Spanish. 

"You're such a dork!" I retorted. 

"Only your dork," He remarks. 

I chuckled and went to my first period class, which was European History. 

Once the first two exams were over lunch came quick. I'm not sure if its the nerves, I'm not so hungry to eat anything right now. 

"God, AP Chemistry is the worst." Karina states. 

"I took it last semester, it really was." I said agreeing with her. 

"At least you don't have to take AP Calculus, that shit is killer." Ethan says with humor. 

"Ugh," Karina groans. "My brain could not handle that math just as much as Chemistry." She shakes her head. 

"How are my wonderful friends doing?" Harrison says as he was coming up to the table. 

"So and so," I said with my hand moving up and down. 

"I just got out of my French exam, my brain does not work apparently." Harrison says. 

"I thought you told me that I and I quote 'got it'" I said. 

"You do, you're smart, beautiful, and have a good sense of humor." Harrison said in awe. 

"Wow, you really are a hopeless romantic," Karina says amused. 

"At least he is," I said. 

"Sure, whatever you say!" Karina retorts. Candace walks with Jayden to sit down at their usual table. "God look at that whore." She says. 

"Its fine, we're good now." I said. 

"What?! When did this happen?" Karina asked with her eyebrow raised. 

"A few weeks ago, we both called a truce." I said. 

"Are sure? You never know with her?" Karina asked judging our situation. She seemed like she was all in my business, which I did not like. I didn't want to say anything to her, so I'm going to let it slide. 

"Yes. Its all good, no need to start another storm." I said with a straightforward attitude. Karina looked down at her salad not focusing on the conversation anymore thankfully.

We all sat and ate our lunch without having another conversation about anything. I just wanted to sit and eat and then take my next exam without worrying about my situation with Jayden and Harrison. 

Jayden literally punched Harrison the other week, I'm not sure how Harrison is holding up. His nose still looks like its healing from his sucker punch. 

I felt so bad lying to my friends. 

Most of all, I'm thankful Harrison is at least supportive that we're "fake dating". 

I just hope this plays off until the person who is threatening Jayden comes forward.
