Just a fun little moment for the two of my favorite characters (well my only original characters but I mean I love them, so much). This takes place before they get married btw!

Stephanie lay on the ground as she stares up at the sky. The soft white color of the fluffy clouds contrasting against the blue background and the bright yellow sun hiding behind the clouds.

She puts her arm over her eyes and closes her eyes for a moment before she sits up again. She grabs her bag and retrieves a notebook and a pen.

With the notebook in her lap and the pen in her hand, she starts writing about nothing in particular. The whole notebook was used specifically for letters to her partner, Sawyer. Here she was, writing another letter to him. It was probably the 20th letter that she'd written, each one was dripping with love.

She finished writing her letter and started to read the letter again, falling in love with the words that she had written.

"Hey there." A deep voice was heard behind her, and she jumped, turning around quickly. Sawyer sat behind her, but he moves to sit besides her. "Whatcha doing?" He points to the notebook in her hands, and she shuts it quickly.

"Nothing." She looks away as her face heats up.

"Someone's shy?" Sawyer teases her and grabs the notebook while she's distracted. "So, what's in here?"

Stephanie quickly turns to him and tries to take the notebook back. "Give it back, Sawyer!"

Sawyer jumps up and puts his arm in the air, making the notebook too far out of reach for the smaller girl. She pouts as she looks up at him, defeated. Sawyer opens the notebook, reading the first letter while smiling.

Closing the book, he turns to Stephanie and smiles. "So, you think I'm hot, huh?" A smirk is on his face as he teases her.

"You suck." She mutters with her sleeves over her mouth to hide her red face.

"Oh, but you swallow." He continues to tease.

"Fuck you."

"I'm sorry, but last time I checked, I'm the one that does the fucking." He whispers in her ear as he smirks still.

Stephanie choked and coughed as she blushed. Sawyer laughs and hugs her from behind, his arms resting on her shoulders.

She turns around to face him and hits his chest playfully. "I hate you, shut up."

"Oh please, you love me." He chuckles and smiles at her.

She smiles. "You're right, now kiss me." She looks up at him and pouts slightly.

"Don't mind if I do." Sawyer says as he leans down to peck her lips.

"That's it?" Stephanie whines as she pouts.

He chuckles at her. "That's it. Don't worry, love, you might get more later."

Her eyes light up and she smiles widely. "Okay!" She sits back down on her blanket that was sprawled out on the ground. "Sit down with me. I have some food and other things." She pats the empty spot next to her and he sits down with a laugh.

"So, you said something about food?" Sawyer says and peeks over at her pile of belongings.

"Yah, but food won't be until later. We can listen to some music though!" She takes out her phone and AirPods. She hands Sawyer the left AirPod and takes the right to herself, putting it in her ear.

Auther here-I put a lot of thought into which song should be playing. And, well, I have a couple of songs that would be nice. And, so, here. It's actually the favorite song of the person that Sawyer is based off of.

Stephanie closes her eyes as Something Comforting by Porter Robinson plays in her ear. She lays down and Sawyer wraps his arms around her waist and lays down next to her. She feels his warm breath on the back of her neck as he breathes slowly. She lets herself fall into the darkness of sleep as her mind creates countless fantasies.

Time Skip! A couple hours maybe?

Stephanie jolts awake and she opens her eyes to the bright orange light of the sun, which was close to sunset. She turns around and sees the light illuminating Sawyer's face.

A small smile was on his face, the corners of his mouth turning upward. Stephanie stares at him and laughs.

She leans down to near his face. "Wake up, dear." She presses her lips against his softly as she feels his smile against the kiss. His lips move slowly against hers and she laughs, pulling away. "I knew you were awake."

"Who said I ever went to sleep?" He laughs. He grabs her face and pulls her closer as he pecks her lips. "I've been reading your notebook the whole time." He looks towards the book that sat next to them. "They seem so," he pauses. "So genuine."

Her eyes dart to the open book that was next to him and looks down at her lap. "Well, they are. And those are supposed to only for me to see." She mutters under her breath.

"When were you going to show me those? You were never going to show those to me? Even though those are literally made for me?" He looks away. "Everything in there...." His voice trails off as he shut his eyes.

Stephanie sighs and then turns his face to her direction. "I'm sorry, dear." She rests her head on his shoulder. "They were originally meant for only me to see, but I promise you were going to see it eventually."

"When? Before or after we get married?"

Stephanie looks down at her hand with a ring on it. "I don't know Sawyer. I just know I was going to show you. Just, trust me, okay?"

"I trust you, Stephanie. You know that I do." He breathes out and they sit in silence until Stephanie speaks up.

"Let's just move on. You want some food?" She scoots over to reach for the food in her bag. "I have some pretzels, chips, starbursts, goldfish, I have a lot of other things as well. We could go get some food too if you would like." She pulls out the different snacks as she rambles, nervous.

Sawyer laughs at her and grabs her shoulder. "Hey, it's fine. Calm down, love. I just want to lay down." He leans back on his back and stares at the sky before turning to Stephanie, who smiled.

"Okay! You can lay down; I might read a little bit."

"You can do that." He rests his arm over his eyes and closes his eyes briefly. He hears the rustling as Stephanie finds her book.

Sawyer takes his arm away and looks at Stephanie. She was so focused, he thought as he smiled. She was reading A Fault in Our Stars by John Greene. It was a great book, in her opinion, possibly the best one she had ever read. Sawyer smiled as he saw she was smiling widely and she relaxed, intrigued in the book. Her laughs and soft giggles fill his ears. as he smiles.

He chuckles softly, catching Stephanie's attention. "Hey! I thought you were going to sleep." She pouts.

"I said I would lay down, I never said I would sleep." He laughs at her.

"Meanie. Don't stare at me while I'm reading."

He sits up. "But you look so cute when you're reading."

Her cheeks turn red as she turns away from him. "Stop it, Sawyer. I'm serious."

He laughs at her and rests his head on her shoulder. "I love you, Stephanie."

She pulls his face closer to him, pressing her lips to his. He smiles into the kiss as she places her hands on the back of his neck. Sawyer bites her lip slightly and slips his tongue inside her mouth.

The sun is setting behind them, shining down on them as they sit on the blanket while kissing softly.

Hate the ending, but this is cute. Seriously though, i love this story.
