Chapter 8: Recommendation Exam

Somewhere in Dagobah Beach...

The sun has risen from its slumber, bringing light as it rises from the edge of the sea. It was a peaceful morning until it was interrupted by a shriek.

"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!"

Toshinori came to stop by at the beach but was taken aback by the scream that echoed throughout the area. He found the source of the racket which came from the top of a mountain made of trash. It was Midoriya. He raised his voice as the sun rises, his sweat crawls down from every inch of his skin.

"Hey, hey, hey! He even cleaned beyond what I assigned to him. Incredible!" Toshinori was amazed by the result of Midoriya's hard work. "There isn't a speck of dust left here and you made it just in time!"

"Oh my... Oh my...!"

Toshinori buffed himself from his pride.

"GOODNESS!!!"

After a long, deafening cry, Midoriya felt his fatigue running through his body and fell from the top of the mountain of junk. Fortunately, All Might caught him in his arms. Midoriya opened his eyes to see his mentor and idol right in front of him. "Well done," said All Might.

"All Might...!! I did it! I... did it...," Midoriya spoke with an uneasy tone.

"Astounding! You're a real entertainer! Teenagers are amazing!" All Might took out his phone and showed a picture to Midoriya, "Here, take a look!"

"What's this?" asked Midoriya as he looked into the picture.

"This is you ten months ago, but look at you now!" the rising sun shone brightly behind Midoriya's muscular body. "Excellent work. You did good!"

"The path forward is ever-so-slightly clearer, but you're a suitable vessel now!" All Might proudly stated to his successor. Midoriya glances at his sweaty hand with tears flowing down his eyes, "... feels like I cheated... though... getting all this help from you, All Might. I've... been blessed."

"He's wrong... this is because of his own efforts...," All Might thought as his laughter escaped through his lips.

"You know, you gotta quit being like a crybaby!" All Might slapped Midoriya in the back.

"Okay," Midoriya replied.

"Anyway, time for the awards ceremony Midoriya," All Might said as Midoriya stood up in front of his idol.

"They say there's a big difference between being born with that power..."

All Might plucked one of his hair strands as he continued his speech, "... and earning that with your own wits. Take this to heart Midoriya. You've earned this power, fair and square."

Midoriya clenches his fist and bravely stood for what is about to come right within his reach, "It's like a twist right out of a comic book, within my reach...," he thought.
