While Bendy may have left the interview early, that didn't mean that it ended then and there.

In fact, let's go back a few weeks. Before the exams, before the challenges, before the internship. Before the trial.

Hell, let's go all the way back to the beginning.

Back to 1973.

"Tell us about what happened before you were transported here, Mr Franks," Tsukauchi resumed after the door had closed.

"Like, the whole story, or?"

"Keep it simple," Aizawa sighed.

Wally leaned in, "Well, it all started after Mr. Drew invited me with the promise of fixing things..."

When he had received the letter, Wally had been suspicious and excited at the same time. He should've stayed home, but the idea that he could help fix the lives Wally had left to rot wasn't something he could just decline.

And, hey, if it turned out to be a way to get him stuck in the studio, which was likely since Joey had an obsession with getting all his original employees in one place, Wally felt like he deserved it.

The offer was even sweeter since Joey, the successful man he is, said he'd pay for all plane and hotel expenses from Florida to New York. Franks still had to do odd mechanic jobs here and there to afford stuff past the necessities, so it was nice to not worry about money.

It had only taken a week after receiving the letter to come back to his old workplace. Joey had insisted he come to the physical building, the one about to collapse at any moment, instead of meeting at his apartment.

Wally had lost pretty much all understanding and patience for his old boss, so when he wasn't greeted at the door, he turned back almost immediately. Well, he tried, but a sudden portal opened up in the ground.

It was hard to describe his emotions back then, since he now saw the incident as a bit comedic, but Wally remembered how scared he was.

He thought that this was the Ink Machine's doing. He'd be stuck here forever, and he didn't even get to see the bastard that caused it.

...But, that wasn't the case.

And he wasn't sure if he preferred this.

"Yes, you do prefer this," Aizawa said, "From what we read, the studio was literal hell"

Wally waved his hand, "I'm trying to tell a good story!"

The detective stayed out of it, "I know you told us the simple version of your arrival. But, would you like to go more in-depth about what it was like initially receiving your quirk? And, of course, anything else you skimmed over?"

The toon-like man made a humming noise, "Oh, there's plenty I skimmed over. When you see a guy move his tail faster than you can process, you figure that it'd be best to rush things along," he clapped his hands, "So, about that arrival! The trip here was a blink it and ya miss it type thing. Which made actually arriving all the more shocking..."
