"Hey. Sorry for keeping you waiting. Did you wait long?" Marcelo asked sitting across Acrina.
"No. I just arrived a few minutes ago." Acrina replied. She took in the look of the guy in front of her right now. He really looked handsome.
"Okay. Let's get going." Marcelo said and was about to stand up when a waiter walked to them.
"Excuse me. What would you like to order?" The waiter asked politely.
"Nothing at all. We are about to leave." Marcelo said smiling at him.
"Alright." The waiter said and left.
"I felt bad for him." Acrina said still staring at the waiter who was busy taking a lady's order.
"Why?" Marcelo asked.
"Nothing. Just that he was looking forward on taking more orders only to find out that we're not eating anything." Acrina replied and looked at him.
"Maybe next time we'll eat here but as for today, I have other plans." Marcelo said smiling. "Come on. Let's go."
"Hmm." Acrina replied and stood up.
Marcelo held her hand as they both walked down the street. They passed thier school and a few other places they knew.
"So what is this magical place you're taking me to?" Acrina asked finally breaking the awkward silence.
"It's still a surprise you know." Marcelo replied grinning from ear to ear.
"Seriously. It's almost six. Before you know it, it's dark." Acrina said looking up at the sky.
"Great." Marcelo said.
"What's great?" Acrina asked confused.
"I mean it would be great if it's dark once we get there." Marcelo replied smiling.
"You're making me really suspicious about this surprise of yours now." Acrina said.
"Ha ha. I am not Elliot." Marcelo said dryly.
Acrina paused for a moment and realized what he was saying. Elliot would have had bad intentions taking her out at night but Marcelo wasn't the same. He was the complete opposite of Elliot and she knew it.
It made her wonder if Elliot ever truly loved her. She could tell by Marcelo's behavior from the start that he was developing feelings for her.
Gamophobia started creeping into her. Her failed relationship with Elliot brought fear into her mind. She wasn't ready to enter another relationship.
"We're here." Marcelo announced once they were in an empty place with a small River and bid rocks.
"But...but no one is here." Acrina said looking confused.
"Well once it becomes dark, you'll see the actual surprise." Marcelo said smiling.
