Marcelo walked towards a rock and sat on it.
"Come on." He urged her.
"Alright." Acrina said and went to sit beside him.
"I wonder what this surprise of yours is." Acrina said looking around.
The place sure was nice with the still water and beautiful lilies that surrounded the place and also the rocks and never ending chirping from the birds that nested on a huge tree across the river.
"So what do you think of this place? I found it on my second day here in East Town." Marcelo said.
"This place is nice. Though I've never been here before." Acrina said.
"And to think you were born here." Marcelo said and chuckled.
"Are you making fun of me?" Acrina asked frowning.
"Of course not." Marcelo replied.
"It's not my fault that I'm not an adventurer like you." Acrina said and smirked.
"Oh do I smell jealousy?" Marcelo asked jokingly.
"Ugh! Why would I be jealous of you!" Acrina yelled and started hitting him.
"Ah such a baby. Let go of me." Marcelo said laughing. Acrina lost her footing and tripped on him. They both landed on the floor, Acrina on top of Marcelo.
"Have anyone ever told you how beautiful you are?" Marcelo asked staring into her eyes.
"Yes. A lot of times." Acrina replied and tried to get up but twisted her wrist in the process and fell back on his chest.
"Careful. Stay, I'll stand up." Marcelo said and held her with one hand and balanced the other hand on the floor before sitting up.
Acrina was sitting across him in a very compromising position and she quickly stood up.
"I'm sorry about that." She said while running her hand through her hair.
"It's alright. Ha look. It's finally time." Marcelo said adjusting his shirt. Acrina turned to the river and saw a trillion fireflies hovering around the water making it look magical.
"Wow. It's beautiful Marcelo. So beautiful." She said really amazed.
"I told ya. Surprise." Marcelo said his eyes never leaving hers.
Acrina turned to him and said. "Thanks for this wonderful surprise. I'm really amazed."
"Acrina. Will you be my girlfriend?" Marcelo asked suddenly out of the blue.
"What? Girlfriend?" Acrina asked suprised. She knew Marcelo liked her but she didn't think he'll be asking her this soon.
"I know you previous relationship wasn't all glittery but I promise you that I'm nothing like Elliot. I'll never betray you or hurt you.
I promise to love you genuinely till I breathe my last. Please Rina. Say yes." Marcelo said sincerely.
"Okay." Acrina whispered the words.
