We're just over halfway, and I've finished like the last five or so chapters – some of these drafts have been live, laugh, loving since 2021 !
Just letting you all know that there are about 50-ish chapters of story (maybe 51).
1978 July __________________ ׂׂૢ་༘࿐
A letter was sent to Mrs L/N asking for permission to stay at 12 Grimmauld Place quite some time prior to the holidays beginning; so Y/N was finally on her way there, she went back to the estate to collect some new clothing and change out her things from Hogwarts. Alexander spent the week she was there avoiding her avidly – she was dead to him as was the rest of his family.
"How dare she read those letters?" Alexander remarked to Sirius over the phone.
"I would have done the same thing." Sirius shrugged, he munched on some celery sticks that he and James were sharing.
"Me too." James nodded from next to Sirius; sharing phone calls had always been quite difficult but with some efficient modifications to their phone – through the means of magic – it worked out quite well. They had only one muggle phone and didn't bother asking for another, it would have solved their problems quite easily if they did.
"What?" Alexander asked back.
"Well, if you don't get it, she'll have to, and since you weren't telling her anything she had to resort to other measures." James nodded to himself as he gave Sirius a slight punch for stealing the last celery stick. "So she went through the letters you had left on the table."
"In Slytherin common room mind you!" Sirius added. "Stupid way to get caught." He said with a mouth full of food.
"That still doesn't excuse her for yelling at me over it, she was acting like a child." Alexander stated.
"You're right for that, whining and throwing a hissy fit?" James scoffed. "It's your decision, your life."
Sirius remains quiet for a moment.
"But what neither of you understand is that she's only a sixteen year old girl, she has no one to look after her if you leave her – she can't use magic outside of Hogwarts as she's not of age, she'll be stuck inside a grand manor with no one to side with her, everyone around her would kill her if they found out she was like us, and you're her only real family left." Sirius firmly nodded. "It's what I did to Regulus, I lost a brother because I was so stupid, left him there by himself with no one to help him – I didn't even reach out at school."
"Regulus and Y/N have each other." James rolled his eyes. "Both as fucked as each other." He then paused. "Rumour has it that they've been fucking in the astronomy tower after class."
