Two months had passed since Hogwarts first started on September 1st and it was now time for the very long awaited Halloween feast and ball, something every girl and boy had been preparing themselves for.
Halloween was very important to the students of Hogwarts during the 70s, for starters the feast was luxurious and lavish, but what made everyone more than excited was the Halloween themed ball that the teachers would throw for the sixth and seventh years. Everyone was in masks, beautiful ballgowns and fitting dress robes.
The ball was almost cancelled since four Gryffindor boys had spiked the punch last year and caused everyone there to be beyond drunk. James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew are the reason for why Hogwarts no longer holds the Halloween ball, because in 1977 they chose to spike the punch once again.
"So, what are you going to wear?" Alexander asked Y/N, peering down at her as she read her book. "I mean, what is mother dearest going to make you wear, I shouldn't make it sound like you actually have a choice in the matter."
"I got a letter this morning, here take a look." Y/N commented while pulling a slightly crinkled black envelope which had a gold wax seal that had the rather daunting family crest of the L/N family from her pocket and handing it to her elder brother.
"My, my, mother surely has a strange taste in clothes, you'll look fantastic that's for sure." Alex joked. "Has anyone asked you?"
"Regulus and I agreed to sit in the corner and read books, ya know, not participate." Y/N answered plainly.
"You know little sister, he's not a good investment." Alexander stated. "Gryffindors and Ravenclaws, even Hufflepuffs are great investments, but you can't like Regulus." Alexander sighed, handing Y/N back the letter which had a photograph attached. "I heard he's getting... the dark mark for his sixteenth birthday." He whispered to Y/N.
"Nonsense!" Y/N exclaimed. "That's pure nonsense, he's not a bad investment and even if he was he's just a really good mate, and he isn't getting... that." She whispered the last word under her breath. "Voldemort wouldn't be interested in a child."
"Hey, don't say his name." Alexander mumbled, slightly taken aback by his sister's straight forward behaviour.
"It's just a name, it's not like if I say it three times he'll just show up out of nowhere, like Beetlejuice or something." Y/N rolled her eyes, she didn't know if he was getting the dark mark and she didn't exactly want to know.

"Hey Regulus... I have a question." Y/N started, the two were seated by the Black Lake in the early morning of Saturday, it was the 31st of Halloween and both were reading books that had correlated with the day it was. "I heard a couple of rumours going around."
"What sort of rumours?" Regulus asked, looking up from his French drama. Y/N gulped and tried to muster up the little amount fo courage that she had.
"I heard that you're getting the dark mark for your birthday, you know you can tell me anything." Y/N stated, not wanting to annoy him in any way shape or form. If it's true then she's befriended a truely dangerous wizard.
"I'm... not sure what's going to happen with that, you know how my parents are, same as yours, it's a lot of honour that I would get thrown my way plus... my parents seem rather keen on it." He answered in a rather hesitant way, he was usually quite blatant with his responses and would just say what was on his mind without any sort of filter.
