"How's Jungmin?" Jungwon asked through the call as he unpacked his bags
Yes, he had to go back to China once again for the umpteenth time
"She's fine, you want to see her?" the boy nodded as Soomin picked her up
"Jungmin, say hi to daddy" the girl waved her small chubby hand to the phone as Jungwon smiled
"She's been sleeping a lot lately"
"Are you taking care of her alone?"
"No actually, Haruto has been helping me a lot. He's been here almost everyday"
even if he tried to hide it, he was so much jealous inside. A dude she met inside a prenatal class was now seeing his daughter grow instead of him?
That pissed him off honestly
"I think he's coming here today—"
*ding dong!*
Speaking of the devil, the doorbell cutted her off as she opened the door
"Hey Soomin," Watanabe Haruto waved his hand with a smile on his face "am I disturbing you?" he asked noticing the call on her phone
"Oh no actually"
Jungwon clenched his fists and jaw. He was more important than him now? he was so pissed off right now, this Haruto guy just irritates him so much
"Who is he?" the japanese boy questioned, walking inside their house and sitting on the couch ready to play with Jungmin
"He's just my fiancè"
He's just her fiancè? just? what the hell?
"Oh you are engaged?" Soomin nodded, placing her phone on the table and keeping the call on
"Yeah, he's her dad" Jungwon couldn't help but notice how disappointed her voice sounded. He's been way too absent and now she doesn't love him anymore, right?
he noticed this days Soomin was getting colder and colder to him. Barely interessed in their conversations and seeing him
maybe it was his time to let her go. maybe she just doesn't love him anymore. he's been absent and she found someone else to rely on
"Ah I see. And why isn't he here?" Haruto questioned again, pissing him off even more. who was he to butt in their lifes like that?
"It's a complicated story" he nodded. Jungwon pinned his eyes on one thing: his daughter laughing and giggling while playing with a boy that wasn't him
"but I don't think I still love him like before" she whispered, thinking it was unaudible. his heart broke, tears started to pool in his cat-like eyes as he had to bit his lip to prevent them from falling down
He was hurt, he was sad. yet why was he mad? why was he mad if Soomin fell out of love with him?
maybe he was mad at himself, not at her or him. he was mad at himself because he can't do anything with that
maybe he was mad because he knows it's his fault if they're falling apart
maybe he should have not approached her at that party in the first place. move on, find a new girl, and not drag her in this mess called life
maybe now he wouldn't feel so heartbroken
"Oh sorry Jungwon, I forgot you were here" she doesn't do it anymore. she doesn't call him with any pet nickname anymore, just his name. no more won, wonie or love of my life. just Jungwon
he smiled. all he did was smiling and shaking his head
the once smiley face was now replaced by an expressioness one. that smile held nothing but pain after all
"it's ok princess"
what did you expected him to do? telling her to love him again?
turning her head to Haruto's direction, Soomin and the other boy started talking again, forgetting about his existence
so he had to only stay there and watch his fiancèe smile and laugh with a boy that wasn't him
he couldn't hold it back anymore when few words spitted out of his mouth
"Would you like to go on a date some day?"
"Of course"
yet that was nothing compared to what he had to witness minutes later
he and his fiancèe kissing in front of him
tears started to roll down his pearl-like cheeks, and it seemed like Soomin didn't gave a fvck about it
"Jungwon wake up!" Jungwon sat up while panting
"Are you ok? You've been murmuring some things and crying in your sleep" Soomin asked him concerned while looking at him with worried eyes
it was all a dream then?
without saying anything, Jungwon embraced his girlfriend tighly
"I'm sorry, don't leave me.." he whispered while sniffing. Soomin was so confused at this point
"leaving you? what do you mean by that wonie?"
"Don't leave me for him please.." the girl broke the hug, facing her lover with a confused expression "leave you for who?"
"For Haruto.." she started giggling, resulting in him looking at her clueless
"why should I leave you for my cousin's boyfriend?"
"won, we had a daughter together and we're also engaged. Why should I leave you?"
"Just promise you'll never leave me" the boy extended his pinky
she intertwined their pinkied "alright, I promise I won't leave you"
