Y/n's pov

The hot guys open the doors and stride towards me, but keeping their distance.

"Hello, little mortal! We are just going to keep you safe while the others decide what to do" said Thor

Loki stood there in silence, his arms crossed, his posture indifferent, but his eyes look lost. Think Y/n, think. Where have I seen these guys before the forest incident? Which one is Thor and which one is Loki?

"Um, hi, um, could you tell me who you are?"

"Oh yes, my apologies, I am Thor and this is my brother Loki" he points at Loki with a smile which soon fades along with the twinkle in his eyes. Thor sighs lightly and turns back to me, trying to pin up his smile again.

I reciprocate, feeling a little less scared knowing their names, and Thor seems quite friendly. I feel that their names have just been drawn out of an old, locked, dusty cupboard in the back of my mind. Despite this there is still a tension in the air, like something is being kept from me, and I can't tell if that is for my safety or maliciously.

I look at Loki and met his eyes which quickly turn away. For that split second I can see what I've seen many time in the mirror, that look where you are about to cry. Is he ok? Why does he look shocked?

Loki pov

How? How does this mortal midgardian resemble y/an so precisely? They bare the same face, the same voice, Hel, their eyes reflect that identical pattern.

And now they look directly through me, I cannot endure this much longer.

Y/n's pov

I hear Loki sniffle and then turn around, walking out the door and staying put outside, not looking in.

"Brother?! You will have to excuse him, he's acting a bit strange with you around." Thor chuckles with unease.

"You aren't wrong, he looks like he's seen a ghost."

Thor chuckles again, "It's funny you should say that, in some way he has." His voice softening.

"What do you mean?" Some way? I'm not a ghost, am I? Thor swings his arms by his side a little bit before turing to look at Loki and sighing.

"Well, a long time ago he had a best friend, they were very close and nothing seemed to be able to separate them." He steps closer and leans on the bed.

"We were in a battle, only teenagers by the way, and unfortunately we lost them, Loki was of course devastated."

Suddenly a few images pop in my mind, screaming, people, fighting, blood-then I am on the ground, impaled. Lying on someone's lap. What the... what was that? Was that me? No... I'm just imagining things... or am I dying in my sleep right now?

"Oh no, I'm so sorry" I whisper.

"Its alright, don't think about it, it was all in the past". Thor pats the edge of the bed.

"But I'm struggling to understand what that has to do with me."

"Well, you look exactly like them, uncanningly if I could say so myself." Gulp, you have got to be kidding me. I don't exactly remember dying- at least not in battle. But that dream, these images, with me clearly in them...

"Oh, I see, that must be quite hard, what was their name?"

"Y/an was their name, very unique, it was a long time ago, I didn't know that Loki was still struggling with their death" he looks back at his hurting brother who is now reading from a book that came out of nowhere. How many people in this place are magic?

"Y/an? Did you say y/an?" Y/an is my weird actual name! But I never use it, none does. It must be a coincidence, it must.

"Yes, y/an, may I ask what is your name?" Thor oh so innocently asks.

"Um, well, my name is y/n."

"Nice to meet you y/n. I apologise for lowering the mood, and for that night in the forest, I didn't mean to scare you, is your head alright?"

"It's ok, don't worry about it, and I have a slight headache, but I'm fine thanks."

Suddenly I saw the three other men storm in again and push Thor out of the way. The metal guy marches up to me, glaring down as if he had laser eyes.

"So this is what's going to happen, kid."
