Y/n's pov

Cuddling with Loki was the safest feeling I had ever felt. His strong, gentle arms emitting a warm pressure around my body and his comfy torso rising up and down against my back. This was beyond relaxing. I wonder what the others would think if they saw him like this..."Loki?"

"Yes darling." He props himseld up on one elbow and leans in.

Oh my, my cheeks can't help but flush when his hair grazes my ear, "I am not complaing, but how come you only really let your guard down around me?" I look up to him to see his brow furrow, I continue, "What I mean is, why do you treat everyone as if they'll turn on you? You are neutral at best..." Loki suddenly sits up straight and holds his head high, looking away silently. I roll over to my back and sigh, "I'm sorry if I hit a nerve, Loki. I completely understand not being friendly with Tony, he's got trust issues too-"

Loki cuts me off, "I don't have trust issues. People just..." His voice trails off as he looks at his lap, twiddling his thumbs before swiftly straightening back up.

He definetly has trust issues. He only has regular conversations with me or Thor, maybe his denial is keeping him from getting over it. "Loki... whether you like it or not, scientifically we need connections. Just two people isn't enough sometimes."

Loki rubs his hand on his face. I grunt to try and push myself up to give him a bit of comfort, but he snaps his head over and then quickly and gently pushes me back on the bed, "You need to rest Y/n, please lay tight." I let him lay me back down and give in to his touch as he massages my scalp.

"You always know how to make me feel relaxed." I close my eyes and smile.

I hear him let out a small breathy chuckle, "Your company is more than sufficient." And of course he winks.

As much as that makes my heart swell, I will not let this slip, "You are enough for me too Loki, but having a few extra friends can't hurt."

"I don't need 'friends'." Loki almost spits.

I open my eyes, raise an eyebrow and give him a bemused glare, he silently gasps, but I cut him off before he can argue, "Everyone needs 'friends'. Besides, I'm sure missions will be a lot easier when you are friendly with one another." I wiggle my eyebrows as he huffs like a kid has been told it can't stab it's sibling.

I chuckle a bit before reaching out to him, "It isn't bad or weak to have some friends, get that out of your mindset," I squeeze his arm, "Why don't you go and get changed, cause I know you haven't for a while, and we can talk about this more, okay?"

He looks down at his clothes, he still looks beautiful, but he is starting to smell like the middle of a battle and this gorgeous god needs a break.

"Okay, I'll also try and see if I can find another copy of your book which couldn't survive in your little incident, I'll be back as soon as possible, stay put Y/n." he then leaves my side, I involuntarily wine as a rush of cold sneaks under the duvet, he quickly leans into kiss my head before heading out the door.

Loki pov

I strut down the corridor presenting an aura of confidence and indifference, that's what I always do, it makes me seem easy to read. But truthfuly no-one knows my intentions or thoughts, which are currently preoccupied with my dear Y/n, and how there is no chance they aren't Y/an. Every time it feels the same as being back with them. My eyes trail the path to my room and to my unlocked door, which is now slightly agape.

Who has tampered with my room? Dread settles in my stomach. Someone is trying to sabotage me.

I take a grounded stance and summon my daggers, firmly placing my feet in front of the other and scouting the surroundings for any sign of residual movement.
