(Smut Warning!!!!)

I lay restless in my bed. It's two o'clock in the morning and yet I still can't fall asleep. I can't stop thinking about Damon.

There's no defending his actions. He screwed up big time. But I was so mean towards him. I thought he was a self-serving psychopath!

I quickly sit up in my bed. I grab a pair of shoes and quickly put them on. I tie my hair into a messy bun, grab my car keys, and quietly head out my room and down the stairs.

I tip toe through the house and silently open the front door. Once I'm safely out the house, I run to my car. I then put the key into the ignition, put the car in reverse, and speed down the road.

I urgently get out my car and rush towards the Salvatore's front door. I knock three times and patiently await. After what seems like forever, I decide to just get back in my car and go home.

It's late...they're probably sleeping right now. And here I am, knocking on their door. Wanting to talk to Damon...hoping that he has some excuse for what really happened to Isobel. Hoping that he really isn't a self-serving psychopath.

I turn around and sigh. He's probably mad at me. He's probably not going to open the door for me. I start walking back towards my car, when at the last second I hear the door open. I turn around and see Stefan leaning on the door frame. He's got a confused look on his face and I can't help but stand there stupidly.

"I'm sorry," I start, "I came here...I came here to apologize to Damon. I lashed out on him earlier and I feel bad for it. Isobel isn't really dead. I think he just-"

"He turned her," Stefan says with a sigh.

"So you know?" I ask him with my own confused expression.

"I just found out. I was planning on telling you and Elena tomorrow at school," Stefan admits to me. He looks like he's had a rough night.

"Look I'm sorry. I just couldn't fall asleep and figured that I had to come and apologize. It was just bothering me...but I can come back later," I tell him slowly backing away.

"Oh no...it's fine. I don't think Damon's getting much sleep right now anyways. I've got to go...handle something. I needed someone to keep an eye on him anyways while I'm gone. I don't need him doing anything else that's stupid," Stefan tells me. He opens the door wider, inviting me inside. I walk inside and look back at Stefan.

"He's in his room," he nods up the stairs.

"Can you keep this between me and you? I don't believe Elena approves of our friendship. Honestly...I don't approve of it either. But he needs a friend right now. And I've devoted myself to be that friend."

Stefan chuckles a little. "Sure thing, Ellie. Just promise me something?"

"What?" I ask him with a small frown.

"Promise me that you'll be careful? You know how Damon can be. I don't want you getting hurt," he tells me with a sheepish smile.

"I promise," I say as I walk up the stairs. I can hear Stefan walking out the front door.

I walk into Damon's room and close the door. His room is big and antique looking. I can hear the shower running in the bathroom, so I'll have to wait until he's out.

I walk over to his dresser and pick up the bottle of bourbon that's sitting on his dresser. I open it and take a small sip. The taste makes me scrunch my face. But I take another sip before putting it back.
