I put on my favorite pair of jeans, a white crop top, and a jean jacket to go overtop. Honestly, our school has a dress code, but nobody adheres to it.

Once I'm done getting dressed I walk out into the hallway. I look down at my phone and see I have no messages.

As I'm walking, I accidentally bump into Jenna, causing me to drop my phone.

"Ellie! Just the person I was looking for." Jenna exclaims.

"Yeah." I say to her.

"Okay do I look like a respectful guardian?" She asks me seriously.

"Depends, where are you going?" Elena asks stepping out of her room.

"Jeremy's parent teacher conference." Jenna says with a groan. She walks up to the hallway mirror. "Hair up or down?" She asks the both of us.

She puts her hair up in a messy but neat ponytail. "Sexy stewardess." Elena comments.

Jenna then drops her hair and moves it in place. "Hmmm...bousy housewife." I comment.

"Up it is." Jenna decides. Jenna looks over at Elena and I's outfits. "You both look feisty today." She comments.

"I feel good, you know? I just thought to go with it. Lie free. Walk on sunshine. And all that stuff." Elena tells us. Well that's one of us.

Elena then makes her way downstairs leaving me and Jenna still in the hall.

"Where's Jeremy?" I ask Jenna. I bend over and pick up my phone that I dropped.

"He left early. He said something about wood-shop to finish a bird house." Jenna tells me. I give her a confused look. Jeremy doesn't take wood shop....

"There is no bird house is there?" She asks me with annoyance in her voice.

"Nope." I tell her emphasizing the P.

He must've went to the hospital to visit Vicki. I love Vicki, I grew up with her. But I don't love the way she acts or how she carries herself. She's not who I want for Jeremy.

"I met somebody at the party." I tell Elena. We walk down the school hallway, not walking anywhere in particular.

"You did!" Elena exclaims.

"Yeah. He looks like he's about 21 though." I tell her.

"Well I mean..." She trails off.

"It wouldn't be the worst thing." I fill in her sentence.

"Yeah. And I mean, as long as your happy, I'm happy." Elena tells me.

I can't help but smile. My sister for the first time in forever actually approves of something.

"I brought it. Told you." Stefan says walking up beside Elena. He holds a old book in his hand.

"Withering heights by Alice Bell. I can't believe she didn't use her really name!" Elena exclaims.

"It was a time when female writers weren't accepted yet." Stefan informs her.

"Where did you get it?" I ask him.

"Ummm...it was...passed down the family." Stefan hesitates. Why did he hesitate like that?

"Keep it." Stefan tells Elena.

If it was passed down in the family, why would he give this book to Elena so carelessly?

As we walk I see Caroline and Bonnie walking together in the opposite direction.

"I'll catch up with you guys later." I tell Elena and Stefan.
