Once Elena and I reach the cemetery, Emily is encircled in a circle of fire. I examine the scene closer and realize that the necklace is floating above her.I look over at Damon who's standing behind the fire, glaring at Emily.
"Please don't do this!" Damon pleads. There's a desperation in his voice that I've never heard before. It's almost as if he's on the brink of crying.
Stefan appears behind Elena and I. He holds a finger to his lips, telling us to be quiet. Elena and I nod our heads simultaneously.
Emily then begins chanting in a language that I've never heard before. I think it could be latin.
I jump in my spot as the necklace explodes like fireworks.
"No!" Damon yells. The circle of fie disappears leaving Bonnie standing there confused. Emily must be gone.
Damon growls and charges at Bonnie with his vampire face on.
"No, Damon!" I yell running towards them. Except Stefan beats me to it, he speeds past me and pushes Damon off of Bonnie.
I rush over to her and gasp at the amount of blood gushing from her neck.
"She's alive, but barely." Stefan tells me. "I can save her." He then bites into his wrist and feeds his blood to Bonnie.
"Her neck is healing!" Elena states. I look up at Elena, who's giving a look of disgust towards Damon.
"She's gonna be okay, Elena." I tell her with tears in my own eyes.
"We've got to get her home." Stefan says lifting Bonnie off of her feet. They help her towards the car.
I still sit on my knees and let out a shaky sigh of relief.
I look up at Damon who's sitting on a rock. The expression on his face makes my heart break right into two.
He looks so sad. I've never seen Damon sad before.
What Damon did to Bonnie was not okay. He could've killed her tonight...but he didn't.
I get up from my spot and walk over to him. I take a seat right beside him.
His icy blue eyes meet my brown ones. He has a look of surprise on his face.
"You should hate me by now. You shouldn't be here with me." He tells me softly. He pauses a moment. "Katherine never compelled me. I knew everything. Every step of the way." He pauses again. "It was all real for me." He admits.
I take my hand and embrace him. His eyes meet mine again, except his are filled with tears.
"It's okay to feel heartbroken, Damon. But it's a limit to your actions. You could've killed Bonnie tonight-" I start.
"That's why you shouldn't be here with me right now." He says cutting me off.
"If you want me to leave, I will." I tell him truthfully.
He contemplates this for a moment. "No. Stay." He commands softly.
I nod my head and scoot closer to him. I link his hand with mine and lean my head on his shoulder.
"I'm really sorry, Damon." I apologize sincerely.
I look over and watch as a single tear falls from his eye. And it makes me feel really bad for him.

I stare at myself in the mirror. I remember not too long ago I stood in this same spot. Except then I was grieving and I didn't know anything about vampires or witches.
