Chapter 1: Dreams

-Dreamland-

"Ah, where am I?" I opened my eyes to an open field full of colorful flowers flowing gently in the wind. I remember this place from one of my previous dreams. Lately, I have been having these strange dreams where I'm placed in random settings, whether open fields or a waterfall in an open valley. However, they would all have something in common...

"I'm back!" A voice cried from the distance

Ah! It was him again. It was a young man with long silver hair and beautiful golden eyes wearing what I think is a red robe. Compared to the people from my era he would be an eyesore. He had these cute, irresistible little dog ears on his head that I wanted to touch so badly and sharp claw-like nails. I learned immediately that this man wasn't a human with those features.

"Hehe, you scared me. Welcome back." I said automatically. I also noticed that I have no control over what I say. Almost like I'm reliving a memory through someone else's eyes.

"I was beginning to think you left me here, what took you so long?" I questioned playfully. I wonder if the body I am in is me or someone else completely.

"Hah, you really think I'd leave you on your own? Don't be stupid, you should know better than anyone that I wouldn't abandon you." The dog-man said, pouting with a huff. Hehe from what I've seen through these strange dreams, this guy is pretty stubborn, but I can tell he means well. Their interactions alone suggested that they were more than mere acquaintances or friends.

From time to time their conversations would muffle out to where I couldn't hear them anymore. However, I can see that the man had brought the woman a bouquet of sunflowers, probably the reason why he was gone for so long. The woman gently grasped the flowers in pure happiness and quickly embraced him.

The dream faded into white, suggesting that I was waking up. I stared at my ceiling for a few minutes before placing an arm over my head.

They seem so happy, I'm kinda envious. I wonder what that kind of love feels like. To have someone to spend time with, go on dates, and have those late-night calls talking about silly stuff. "Ah, I doubt there's anyone out there for me," I mumbled, clutching my pillow. Now that I've been having those dreams, my standards have changed drastically. "Aw man, to think I fell in love with some fictional guy with cute dog ears!" I still want to touch them "Ack, but that's beside the point! I'll never find anyone if I'm crushing on the guy of my dreams literally!" I yelled dramatically rolling around in my bed. "Waah!" I carelessly rolled off the bed. Alright, that hurts but it's what I get for overreacting. I rubbed my head and took a glance at my alarm clock. It's almost 11 am. I should get ready to head out.

I get ready by putting on my favorite summer dress, covered in sunflowers, and a pastel green sweater on top. Having been motivated by my cake addiction, I head outside to explore the city. "I hope I can find a cake shop close by or a café serving yummy cakes."
