After last night, Inuyasha and I walked back to the hut to get some rest. He wanted to sleep outside to avoid being yelled at by the others in the morning, so he left after making sure my hand was bandaged well. I awoke the next day to Miroku and Sango trying to figure out a way to convince Inuyasha to go see Kagome.
"Good Morning Sango, Miroku." I greeted smiling tiredly.
"Good morning Kagami. Did you sleep well?" Sango asked.
I nodded feeling a lot more refreshed and energized. "Yes, much better than before."
"I'm assuming you and Inuyasha made up?" Miroku asked.
My smile widen as the memories of last night resurfaced. "Uh-huh, we're okay now."
Sango sighed as she shook her head with crossed arms. "Honestly, it amazes me how you can forgive him so easily."
"I don't want any ill will during our travels because at the end of the day we're still friends. No matter how much Inuyasha may annoy me, I will still care for him." I said honestly.
Sango stayed quiet as she stared at me in amazement. "A beautiful woman with a beautiful heart. Your kindness is nearly blinding." Miroku said, placing his hands together as if he was praying to a goddess. I tilted my head to the side, confused by their reactions.
Kagome's pov
I stood in front of the sacred tree as I still contemplated what to do. Even after that talk with mom, I still feel so...unsure. I looked between the tree and the shrine a few times before walking away from both down the stairs. Maybe a walk would help.
I didn't have a destination in mind as I wandered around the area aimlessly. Endless thoughts consumed me as I thought about Inuyasha and what to say to him. I didn't dwell on it long when I heard a voice calling out to me.
"Hey, Kagome."
I looked up to see it was Kagami's brother. "Haku?" He was wearing a plain grey shirt that loosely covered his shoulders showing the white tank top underneath. Instead of the usual braid, his hair was down swaying freely. He was carrying a few sacks of white bags filled with food and snacks.
"Didn't expect you to be back so soon," he said while walking up to me.
My gaze hit the concrete ground as I shifted nervously in my spot. "Uh yeah, I just forgot some stuff back at home," I stated awkwardly.
"Is that so? Well I was just heading home, would you like to join me?" he offered.
I guess stopping by wouldn't hurt. Maybe he can help me. "Yeah sure."
The walk to his place was quiet and tense, at least for me. Haku didn't seem to mind my strange behavior as he did not comment on it not even when he opened the door and allowed me inside.
"Make yourself at home. I'll make some tea." He said as he walked past me.
"Thanks." I decided to take a seat on their couch as I waited for him to return. I opted to look around the living room as a distraction until he was done. My attention was drawn to a small table next to the large tv in front of me. There appeared to be a photo frame that was faced down so no one could see it.
I looked around the room to find a couple more the same way. Kagami only told me about her parents passing. Other than that I don't know much about her past.
I didn't have much time to dwell on the matter as Haku came by with two cups of tea on a small tray. As he placed a cup of green tea in front of me my attention was drawn to the ring worn on his left hand. Since he's younger maybe I can get his input about love. "Say Haku you're getting married soon right?"
